Youth.....

monkey boy

Recommended Posts

Hi mb.

Greg Deacon is injured, currently undergoing some tests with a specialist. More news within the next week, hopefully.

Danny Cross has been out, injured, but, along with Matt Jones, Jake Attwood and Chris Seeby, trained with the Reserves on Saturday morning. Hopefully, they will 'feature', as I believe they say in football, in the Reserves Intermediate Cup match tomorrow evening.

You again, monkey boy. You were busy last night. Was that just after East Enders? I applauded your wisdom on another thread just a moment ago.

Old timers. You're right again, monkey boy. George Clarke is 18 or 19. Graeme Butler is 18. Michael Shinn is 19 I think. Lee Clarke is 19. Greg Deacon and Chris Seeby are 19, I believe. Ben Cogger is 20 or 21. Will Davies is 24.

You might be right again monkey boy. We can't rely on these old timers. It could be time to give Yoof a chance. I hear that Verulam School Under 13's are looking promising this term. They would probably do a job in the Ryman Premier League.

Posted this on another thread. Seems to fit well here ... plenty of youth available if needed

Yes, the attitude is spot on, all for one etc. These are a great bunch of "young men", (the emphasis on young) who are well managed / coached by HKS and VJ. Credit to all ....

Pulling two threads together re "Youth", last nights team / age

Taylor 19

Attwood 19

Jones 18

Riley 22

Malham 19

Lawal 21

Smith J 19

Cross 18

Collins 19

Atkinson 18

Smith A 18

Hull 20

Parratt 19

Parkinson 17

Blythe 18

Average age - 18.9333 (Christ, better loose a couple of the old gits !!)

Deacon (20) has a problem (extent not yet known) so this should not be the subject of discussion on this site. Best kept private until confirmed.

Seeby (19) was out injured for a while, played a couple of first team games but obviously the powers that be felt he was a little off the pace, hence a blow with the reserves. Back last night with first team but not used, will certainly "feature" again soon.

10 of the above named players have progressed through City Youth and the Midweek Team that plays at CP. Not a bad return I say. Perhaps one or two of you would be interested in a visit to see whats on offer for the future ?

See ...all is not lost

I don't know anything about football but I know that Scott Anderson has been injured for 6 weeks. Lemsford was his first game back and, fair play to t'lad, he scored a hat-trick.

I wasn't at the Reserves game on Tuesday. Did he come off after about 70 minutes? Just wondered.

His chance will come, no doubt.

Just to set the record straight chaps, Scotty was suspended for 35 days following a fit of pique at Bowers.

Assuming everthing was going well, it was always the plan to bring him off after 65/ 70 minutes and let the aptly named Bullet terrorise a tired defence.

All in all worked quite well.

Scoring a hatrick on his comeback, albeit against Lemsford, just showed what we've been missing over the past few weeks.

Scott 'The Attitude' Atkinson. It's got a certain ring to it.

Nothing wrong with Scotts temperament. He shouldn't have said what he said to the referee, but I do have a certain amount of sympathy, he was a total tw@t. Far and away the worst we've had this year. For the record he also sent their Physio off for foul and abusive.

I did get a bit agitated myself and had to be told to calm down by a certain Mr Caretaker. Lucky he was there really, or I could have suffered the same fate.
