Around 750 I believe and I presume Aveley would have brought very few. Not too bad considering our position/form. Just dreading the inevitable departures come the end of the season…

I'd be very surprised if Henry remains with us and if true that Slav has had offers from other clubs it's likely he'll be leaving as well.

The other player that could go is Ogbonna if a higher club takes a chance on the creative side of his game improving.

Scott will be able to confirm but I think Baylis and Ogbonna are out of contract at the end of this season? They’d both attract a lot of interest from clubs in our division and possibly higher. We’re not in a position to match any offers they receive or the short term ambition of promotion. Unfortunately the majority of players won’t stay because the club or fans treat them nice!

So basically they've just gone we're no good away from home 0 points but good at home 6 points.

I can see us finishing on 54 points which will leave us 17th due to a much better GD   than others predicted to finish on 54 Dorking would be the GD champions

We're pretty sure that this seasons budget is one of the lowest in the division but we don't know for certain about next season.

It's very likely that if we want to fend off other clubs poaching our better players and also having the budget to be competitive and attract decent new players the budget will have to improve.

Hopefully we'll be better informed following our up coming fans forum.

I think Bayliss & Ochieng have been very good this season & will probably be moving on & successful at full-time clubs.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Spasov, Ogbonna & Gilbert get some interest, but I think they are still a season away (if they stay with us & continue to start regularly) from a successful move up.

Spasov because he needs a 20 league goal season, Ogbonna because he needs to score more often & improve his final delivery, & Gilbert because he needs to show he can play his high energy, pressing game without the suspensions.

IMHO the game was poor, the quality on display was also poor (from both sides) and the opposition were the worst I can recall seeing at Arbour Park since being promoted to the National League South.

None of this matters of course, as the only thing that the records will record is the final result Slough Town 3-0 Aveley. Given the past 3 months I'll take this no matter how it comes, especially as this (finally!) sees us on 51 points and more or less safe.

I say more or less safe, as for us to go down from this position would require not only St Albans to catch us (they'd need at least 10 points from their remaining 12, and this is assuming that we lose all our remaining fixtures) but Enfield Town, Salisbury and Hampton & Richmond as well. This of course would require an absolutely calamitous sequence of results, but apart from that we can now focus on next season and what we need to do to avoid a repeat of the second half of this season.

As you say Nathan it wasn't a good game to watch but you have to take the conditions into account.

Not easy to play good football in that swirling wind.
