Farnborough at Home 8th March

I thought it was a good game to watch and we put up a decent display with a make shift defence without Bayliss and Pruti.

We didn't create many chances with an excellent save from Charlie when one on one with Pavey that kept us in the game.

Overall a decent performance form us with a draw probably a fair result despite what the blinkered Day says.

Spencer Day's interviews are always entertaining to listen to.

Did anyone else see a red card shout, certainly no-one standing near me seemed in away concerned about Scott's tackle on their player after about 10 mins.

As for our penalty shouts, their defender certainly had hold of David's shirt as David went past him, then why would anyone then go to ground intentionally when they are though on goal?

For the second penalty shout, I though Slavi went to ground far too easily.

Overall, a draw was probably a fair result for both sides.

Whenever I realise that the ref for the game is going to be Mr Eddie, I am confident that we are in for a consistent, reliable, reffing performance.

Every time he has reffed one of our games he is consistently crap, and I know I can rely on him to make plenty of wrong decisions in the forthcoming 90 minutes.

In my opinion he didn't disappoint yesterday.

I haven't seen any video highlights as I write this, so I might change my opinions after watching them , but how on earth could he have given David a yellow card for that incident in the penalty area in the first half ?

I thought not only was David fouled once in the move, I thought he was fouled twice.

I thought he was caught first of all just after he got into the area, and I was thinking he should have gone down as most other players would have done in that situation, but he stayed on his feet, carried on another yard or two and then received another trip by a Farnborough defender.

Definite penalty in my eyes.

At the time I thought Slavi's was a penalty too, but RebelVilla states above that he thought Slavi went to ground too easily, so I'd like to see the video on that one.

Scotty sending off ?

I hate to say it, but I agree with Spencer.

(Oh the shame.)

Again I haven't seen any video of the incident, but at the time I couldn't believe a foul wasn't given against us.

I'd love to be shown to be wrong, as agreeing with Spencer definitely doesn't sit well with me.

I can't agree with Spencer's assessment that they deserved to win the game, I thought a draw was a fair result, but sadly I think he, as well as us, had plenty to be unhappy about with the ref's performance.

In the first half, there were two blatant fouls by us on his players that I was delighted we got away with near the touchline where the dug outs are.

And in the second half Farnborough had a dangerous attack going when a ball was passed through to one of their players heading towards our penalty box but thankfully offside was given.

The ball had though taken a big deflection off of one of our players so in my interpretation of the rules play should have carried on.

This happened right in front of the Farnborough bench, and they all saw the ball come off our player, so I'm not surprised they were unhappy.

Thankfully a poor ref didn't totally ruin what I thought was an entertaining game.

On another day we could have won it.

On another day we could have lost it.

I'm very happy with a point.

Listening to both Day's and Scott's post match interviews you'd think we were watching two different games.

Day virtually saying they were the better side and were robbed of all 3 points and Scott and for that matter Guy Hollis saying we were the better side.

On the incidents with Scott and the two penalty shouts I'll have to watch the replays before giving a firm opinion but I initially thought Scott was lucky not to be booked and possibly sent off and that both were penalties but that Slavi's looked the more stone wall.

This Mr Eddie ref obviously doesn't apply much common sense to his reffing.

I was probably too far away to see the Oggy penalty shout in great detail but what I'm pretty sure I did see was Oggy getting past his marker very close to the goal/bye line and then going to ground from what looked from afar like a trip from behind.

So to my mind what possible reason would there be for Oggy to take a dive when in that position if he wasn't touched?

There were people right in front of me behind the goal who were filming on their phones at the time of Slavi's shout and upon watching it back they were adamant that it was not a penalty as Slavi had in fact tripped over his own feet.

I didn't see the footage so I can't comment.

From what I can see on the highlights I have to disagree Nathan, I think both are penalties.

Oggy looks like he's had his heels clipped otherwise why would he go over and Slavi has had his legs taken away when about to shoot.

I’ve only just got round to listen to Scott’s post match interview, and I’m surprised there haven’t been any views posted about Sam Evans’ request to move to a step 4 club, and Dan Roth’s injury.

Personally, I agree with Scott on Sam Evans, if he isn’t 100% committed to the Club he should move on, but he is on contract until the end of next season & that should mean something,  even it is a small fee & a sell on clause.

I’m also looking forward to this probably leading to some of our young up & coming talent getting the opportunity to come into the squad & hopefully getting a few appearances.

According to him Scott should have been sent off, they were much the better side with the better chances and our goal was due to a mistake from one of their players and both of our shouts for penalties were soft.

And he reckoned FC Bracknell deserved to beat Slough Heating in the top of the table clash at The Polish Club on Saturday.....🤡

I've let him know they didn't and lost 3-2. 😂

Agree if Sam or anyone else doesn't want to play for us then they should leave.

His season has never really took off due to injuries and probably just wants to play before doing his degree.

Sam is on a contract but from what Scott said it sounds doubtful we will get a fee.

On the other hand it's now come down to the wire in the league and with Bayliss getting a season ending injury, Sam Evans leaving and now Dan Roth injured we'd just better hope nobody else gets injured or we're in serious trouble squad wise.

I could only go by what they said at the time, but my initial instinct was that Slavi went down far too easily (as he has a tendency to do). Having just seen the footage from the highlights, I can't see anything that contradicts this; have you tried playing the video back at a lower speed?

I've looked at it every which way and although nothing is ever 100% conclusive I honestly believe 90% of refs would have given at least one if not both penalties. It's unfortunate that we had Mr Eddie reffing who is no stranger to being controversial.

If Sam Evans could wait 16 months we might be at step 4.
