Not sure about this, to me its a case of where were you when we were shit.

If you mean season 1960/61 I was in the second form at Slough Grammar School from whence came a number of first team players in those days.

No he means the 06/07 season when we were groundless, went out of all 4 cups in the first round and only got 17 points from 42 league games - 0.405 points per game.

The 60/61 did far better progressing in cup games and picking up the equivalent (adjusted for 3 points for a win) of 15 points from 30 league games - 0.5 points per game.

So the statement from Windsor Rebel remains correct.

Exactly SirRebel965, i was not referring to KGB, more to the so called fans now who claim to

be Slough through and through, but have only been watching since we moved to Arbour Park,

bunch of plebs

Does it matter though WR?

To me whether it's people that have been supporting for 80 years or 80 minutes, if they are Slough fans and want to put £90 extra into the club then it's all good IMO.

There could be loads of reasons why some of our newer supporters weren't following us in the dark days.

I agree with SF, if those particular supporters want to put money into the club, not just for the wall but as they are doing over the course of this season and other seasons then I can't see a problem.

If some of them are the younger ones hopefully they'll become loyal supporters for years to come.

I understood that the earlier observation was not directed at me but I thought I'd present my credentials, as they used to say.

I was until recently busy pursuing other footballing interests but now it's Slough's results that mean the most to me and I was happy to stump up. Since it's Valentine's Day the following seems apposite (Brenda Lee version of course)

"Maybe I didn't watch you
Quite as often as I could have
Maybe I didn't follow you
Quite as strongly as I should have
If I made you feel second best
I'm sorry I was blind

You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind".

Gotta be the Elvis version surely ! 😄👍

"à chacun son goût"

There is an argument that the song was actually written with Brenda Lee in mind. Never saw Elvis live but I did see Brenda perform live at The Adelphi twice (and The Beatles and Roy Orbison for that matter).

Voice off "Nurse, the screens!"
