Its interesting how momentum can suddenly build. The squad has very gradually got stronger. Sam Youngs has found some goal-scoring form. We've played some sides recently who have had recent changes of personnel and/or haven't been at their best (Chelmsford/Farnborough/Aveley). Rhys has recaptured some of his best form. The manager has started playing 2 up front... I guess its important not to look too far ahead though - if we win against Welling and win our game in hand, then suddenly we're no longer in the drop zone. Those are massive 'ifs'. Very much hoping our luck holds and we can manufacture a win, but even if the visitors leave with the points we'll still have a game in hand on them and 15 games in which to overhaul the 6-8 point lead sides above us will have. Our season is just beginning!

(Any chance Gillingham fancy loaning us Marcus when he's back from injury?)

A massive thank you goes to two stalwarts of the club in Dave Farenden and Peter Gooch, who won’t thank us for highlighting their combined age of nearly 150.
Their tireless work on the pitch yesterday and today assured the playing surface would be playable for tonight’s very important National League South home game v’s Welling United 7.45pm KO.
A small thank you goes a long way and I’m sure there’s a 🍺 on offer courtesy of a fan or two

Bates can deliver a ball! Glancing header from Youngs from his corner for the goal, and most of our set pieces are causing problems.

Just about shaded that, but not much in it, very attritional and scrappy, apparently Kasimu should have done better with an early chance, but I wasn't in the ground at that point. Fingers crossed second half 🤞
