Edon Pruti

Recommended Posts

A surprise signing for us all including Scott! But a very welcome one especially with our current lack of CBโ€™s. A solid experienced defender and still only 22 so plenty of time to still make it back into the full time game hopefully assisting us well on the way. Hopefully the Baylis rumour was rubbish and Edon isnโ€™t his replacementโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ‘€

Those who gave him stick during our home league match vs Farnborough last season must be feeling pretty silly now!

Not really as itโ€™s pretty common up and down the country and itโ€™s usually a bit of banter and nothing malicious. Plus I doubt Edon or any player would be that bothered about it as it would be half expected.

I had down a new LB, new CB and then CM, so with 2 of those ticked off, that might be the next on the list for the team. That and getting Hollis and Bayliss fit as its all very well having these players, but if they can't get fit and play together, that's an issue.ย

In addition, I wonder if Prosper (although a different type of midfielder to Leon) may drop back into CDM as an alternative there.

Banter between fans and former players is fine and expected, but some of it struck me at the time as being a little on the spiteful side.

It was as if he had no right to leave us to take a better opportunity elsewhere, and we were relishing the fact that he had failed in the professional game and had ended up back in the NLS so quickly.

Doesn't Henry play in that position?

The problem we'll have once all 3 CB's are fit is fitting them all in.

I'm pretty sure none of the 3 will be happy being left out of the starting 11.

Unless we of course go 5 at the back or leave out our new left back or Jackman.

I'm pretty sure we'll be looking at Jackman, Hollis, Bayliss, Pruti and Miccio as a back 5 when/if everyone gets fit RR. You'll then have Henry, Gilbert and 1 for midfield and then the front 2 depending on system and availability.

That does sound a bit of a negative formation especially at home where we like to generally play with a wide player or two and go at teams.

Unless of course we play with the 5 at the back away and revert to 3-5-2 at home.

Thatโ€™s of course if a defender isnโ€™t heading out of the door?

We shall see but I think Edon is an early replacement.

With the way he played today, regardless of ins and outs, I think he is an excellent addition to the squad.

It's what we started the season with when we won all those games. With our forward players we should have enough attacking options to score goals. To add to that, Josh and Lewis are more than attacking enough, when we have a solid back 3 in place to provide the attacking width.

In his interview Scott explained that signing Pruti is very much down to planning for next season.

He said there are players he's spoken to about signing for next season who want to hang fire to keep their options open.

One of which could well be Bayliss so securing a left footed CB for next season sounds like a shrewd move in the event of say Bayliss deciding to go elsewhere.ย ย

Totally agree RR and my thoughts were the same. Whilst I think Bayliss is brilliant and IMO a future Slough captain, if he chooses to move on in the summer I'd wish him good luck for the future. Until then, I'm looking forward to seeing him and Edon playing together as I think that'll be a heck of a defence.

Agree SF.

Ideally I suppose you'd not want them to both be left footedย ๐Ÿ˜
