I think he deserves his own thread -

A brilliant young footballer with a great potential future and been great to see him this season start to realise his potential. I'm sure he'll do great things for Southend and be a big success.

As Scott said, a little bitter sweet as he was brilliant for us this season, but hopefully Scott will get some of the funds (even if its in wages) to replace him within the squad and everyone will win from the deal.

With average attendances of 7,000+ Southend really should be a League One club.

With debts totalling £2.5m just over a year ago, Southend really should have been wound up.

They would have if not for the astonishing leniency of the Leagues and of the High Court, who repeatedly granted deadline extensions and reprieves as Southend are a big club.

Hopefully for them they've learnt their lesson not to over spend and it's all in the past.

But there was no real punishment; they've had many winding-up petitions dating back to 2009, so years of prevarication and excuses. I think I read somewhere that the judge in one such court hearing even said they would have been wound up had they not been a large football club!

North Ferriby United on the other hand were wound up in 2019 at the first time of asking due to a debt of under £8000.
