Clubs can make an approach but if on a contract we don't have to sell and as you say SF in this case it should be cough up a silly fee or negotiations are over.

If that's the case with Leon, I say thank you for a great half and a bit of a season and all the best in the future. He has been brilliant for us this year and arguably player of the season thus far, but if a 2 year pro contract is in the offing and the money we heard about last night was right then it's the best move for everyone. I did also hear the York had come in for him so that might be an interesting curve ball in the deal.

I read he was with the Southend squad last night iand told some supporters just waiting for paperwork.

It’s now official that Leon has signed for Southend United…… I wish him all the very best & hope he continues to develop & gets to play in  the Football League in the next couple of seasons.

I also hope Scott gets the bonus of using the additional funds (if not this season, then next season)….. he has a great eye for not only identifying talent but also creating an environment for it’s development, and this should be a signal to lots of other talented youngsters that Slough Town is a club where you will get opportunities to thrive & possibly the chance to move on to full-time football.

In his post match interview Scott said that now Leons gone we've got a big hole in our midfield.

If he thinks that's the case presumably he's looking to plug that hole with another midfielder.

The only problem is how do you find a player of Leon's quality that doesn't break the bank.

when i did a management course i was informed that the best management decisions were made when you were overseeing what was going on and were able to get a complete overview i believe that scott should take a back step to the bench and maybe try some of the youngsters or other players that we have available and get a better picture of what the team needs from looking from the side lines rather than trying to do it from the trenches.

Besides,  Scott is still one of our better players and we need him on the pitch.
