Every home game there is a write up in the match day program under 'from the boardroom'

The Torquay program mentioned the launch of 'Kids Zone' for families and the clubs focus on building for the future by strengthening the infrastructure and engaging further with the local community as a priority.

True but how many fans read the programme, 150? How easy would it be to place each ‘boardroom notes’ onto the website/social media (like Chesham do every week).

They could do Glen but in fairness to the board, you can't moan that there isn't an update, get an update as requested and then moan it isn't published where you want it to be.

Perhaps, our horrible board have, in true media manipulation as Sir Rebel said, only put it in the programme to force those that want it to buy one😂😂. Tell you what Glen, come and see me at the back of the stand and you can rent my programme each week for 50p for 5 minutes to read the update👍

And nor should he RR. If Leon decides to go to Southend for full time football, good luck to him and i hope he is a massive success.

It'll hurt the team performances as he is at the moment my player of the season, but players like Dan Roth will get more game time and hopefully be as successful or more so than Leon has been.

Surely if you want the majority of your fanbase plus potential fans to know what’s going on then you’d share it far and wide and not just those few who buy a programme, makes no sense to me!

Scott is probably caught between a rock and a hard place with our two center backs hopefully back playing within a month.

A left back apart, I reckon it might have to be a loan or two for a month to fill the gap.

We clearly have a budget for the playing squad. That is set at X amount and hopefully it has been done sustainably for the club. If Player A wants to go to Team B for more money than we are willing to pay (either on value or principle) then let him go and get his money and we'll move on. We did this in the summer with Goddard and it took him 4 months to realise whilst the money is great, the grass isn't always greener. 

In addition, I want a sustainable club the develops over time by increasing attendances, sponsorships and a better and better ground (both physically and in experience). All of this in a longer term plan will pay dividends on the pitch but you can't put the cart before the horse. Given our history, i would have thought every Slough fan would want this.

As for "media-manipulation", call it what you want, but with the increase in attendance, sponsorships and match day experience, it's clearly working. It's very different to Neil, Jon and Steve's way of doing things, but we live in a different world than we did just a few short years ago.

For me, the club could do more with coms to the fans, but we will always want more and there are somethings that can't be handled in that way. As a great recent example, you got full honesty from Spencer about the way he felt Guy had treated Farnborough which may (or more likely not) been true. You then look at the interview Guy and Scott did after the Eastbourne game and tell me which club you'd rather play for!

I'd prefer to call it 'being positive' to help increase the clubs revenue.

Agreed, I say a couple of loans to fill the gaps for a month buys some breathing space and whilst I get the "needing men" type comments made in his interviews, we have those in Baylis ans Hollis who even when injured could be great mentor types for some younger players on loan.

Need signings and fast , some positive news would be nice, gutted about the ones that have left and to top that Leon potentially leaving, injuries as well not helping in defence. When are we gonna get a break and 3pts again

Not saying he’s not worth it but I’d be very surprised if they would even bid that for a step 2 player? Maybe that’s a total fee after so many appearances/goals are completed.

Further down in that thread on X, suggestion of it being a low fee and good business for Southend so the supporters certainly not baulking at it.

This Southend supporter has put some of Leons highlights/goals on his x feed and suggests that 50k is small fodder for them and will be a bargain at that sort of fee.

I would hope Leon gets at least a two year contract, and we get a 20% sell on clause on top of any fee, because if he continues to progress I think he could be playing in League One in a few seasons.

Unfortunate that Lexus & Kweku have confirmed they have left today, but hopefully that releases the playing budget to make the rumoured left back signing.

I suppose you have to figure in that Leon is only 23 and has 1 1/2 seasons left to run on his contract and to prize him out of the contract it has to be a decent fee. 

Hopefully a sell on clause is also included.
