Enfield Town 1-1 Bath City

Well the free kick was given away needlessly and by the look of the highlights Rhys should have done better. Apart from that Bath offered very little to threaten. We on the other hand had countless good balls into the box but we failed to convert them. It's costing us big time. We played more attacking football with two up front and created plenty of opportunities but we just aren't clinical in the box. I'd like the same set up again v Weymouth and see if we can score more than we concede this time 🤞

What I'd give for an early 1990s Gary Abbott gobbling those crosses up!

...or how about Steve West?

Sorry to be all negative about ‘must wins’ but Aveley was a ‘must’ win. Welling was a ‘must’ win. ‘Salisbury’ was a ‘must win’. Chesham. St Albans. Even Sittingbourne I thought was a ‘must win.’ We can’t just keep delaying the inevitable. We haven’t won games when we needed to during the season and now we’re facing the consequences.

Your posts are beginning to make mine look optimistic!

I understand that the club are soon to announce plans to hand out Prozac to home fans at the turnstiles.

What is truly remarkable is that even with some of the worst form and performances imaginable, survival remains possible!

I tend to try and be very positive and optimistic, you know being a Tottenham fan an all😅

But I don’t understand how we can be talking about must wins when we’ve had many opportunities to take points this season. Leading games, capitulating etc.

In a relegation battle, you have to try and beat the teams around you. We haven’t done that well.

Survival ‘remains’ possible but I’ll ask a question, where does losing to Weymouth next weekend leave us?

I will be pleasantly surprised if we win. We laboured to a 1-0 win against them at home. Watching their recent performances suggests that they have improved.

It will take nothing short of an actual modern day miracle to survive now - 30 points from the last 19 games which equates to 9 wins, 3 draws and 7 defeats.

We also have to look at St Albans. They’ve played 7 teams out of the top 9 under their new manager. They could pick up some confidence and crack on. They have a midtable side, so I’m quite surprised to see them down here anyways.

I don’t see us winning on the weekend if I’m being totally honest. Granted Weymouth aren’t making amazing progress towards staying up, but I don’t think it’ll be an easy game for us to break down.
