Enfield Town 1-1 Bath City

Tally Ho

Recommended Posts

Must must win today - Bath would go 13 points (14 in reality with better GD) should we lose and realistically too difficult for us to catch .. even more important than Weymouth as we need to make up ground on the sides just outside the drop zone.

No Friday night signings - but surely we go with 2 up top today and take it to them - Hutch and Kaunda .. and let's make early subs if things aren't working to get fresh legs on ..

Taking my daughter back to uni so will be listening in to the 2nd half on the radio.

Big vocal support required regardless of how the match is playing out to help the team get over the line ..

This next few games determines if we have a chance of staying up or not ..

Up The Town

Starting with 2 up front, so let's hope it works as many have shouted for it for long enough 🤣

I've got a sneaky feeling that Gav will start with a lone striker. It'll be Kaunda because thats the deal we made.

Wrong! 2 up front so fingers crossed that at home this helps for sure

  • Tally Ho changed the title to Enfield Town 1-1 Bath City

We could've won this, they weren't all that and we had far more possession...just couldn't hit the net.

Thought ref did well first half...but then fell for every dark art in the book! 🤬

Still, a point's better than none 👏🏻

It wasn't pretty and the crowd were fairly subdued for large parts of today. Two up front and both were either chasing lost causes or had their back to goal for the majority of the game. Granted, Alfie Tuck rarely played the ball into the attacking third, but with him gone, we really miss someone in the middle of the park who can put their foot on the ball and dictate play. So there were plenty of long balls which didn't suit either Kaunda or Hutchinson. I was staggered that Kaunda was awarded man of the match - really should've gone to Billy Leonard, Sam Youngs or Adam Thompson.

Another 'must win' turned out to be another 'didn't win'. Call me a defeatist, but with little prospect of a goal-scoring saviour coming through the door any time soon, if it didn't before it certainly now feels like we're going to be going through the motions for the remaining 19 games. I stand by my prediction that Gavin won't be manager this time next year.

Not really a point gained and it’s probably 2 points lost for our ‘survival’. St Albans have more chance of survival then us.

As we’ve all known for a while in the back of our minds, although some wouldn’t like to say, the seasons over and we have nothing to play for in January. Really stupid putting our ‘B Teams’ in the London Senior Cup or the Middlesex one because atleast we have something to look forward to as a club in the latter stages of a season.

It really does not matter what formation we play. 2 strikers, 1 striker, 0 strikers it’s all the same. We do not have the quality to stay in this league bar a couple players. Recruiting poorly was really the start of the downfall

Tuck was much more important for us then we give credit for. Maybe not the most physical, but he is the only one in our midfield who can really create something out of nothing and drive with the ball. Losing Scott/Tuck at the same time has hurt.

Crowds not interested, atmosphere subdued. Weymouth next for really the final nail in the coffin.

Beat Weymouth next week and everybody will be happy and singing the club’s praises.

I respectfully disagree. Whilst we're better than we were in August, I've seen nothing to suggest we're capable of going on a run of wins. Gavin has said in his post-match interview that we're firing blanks and seems bereft of ideas - apparently forgetting that he recruited and selected these players!

It was tongue in cheek.
