Collapsed like a pack of cards

I fear for us next week

I'm less fearful. For 65 minutes we matched them and, contrary to some other opinions, I thought they were very good. We could have gone 2-1 up as easily as them, then it might have been different.

I am concerned about the spate of needless reds.

I'm a bit surprised at the lack of comments on here after what Scott said in his after match interview.

Can you imagine the headlines if a ref had walked in (down the tunnel I assume) at half-time with say, Liverpool players and said to them

" That's the reason why I don't like you lot."

Sky Sports would be talking about it for the next week !

I couldn't believe that a ref, if that was what he thought of us, was stupid and thick enough to come right out and admit it.

His performance showed  that he didn't like us , but I thought it was an utterly disgraceful thing to come out and say.

Surely there must be repercussions for the ref ?

I doubt very much there will be any repercussions unless there were independent witnesses to what the ref said.

Otherwise it's the refs word against a manager who's just lost a game 5-1.

On the Gilbert incident it was two players having a coming together/wrestling each other to the ground, the only difference that I saw was that Gilbs seemed to get the player in a type of headlock before hitting the ground.

For the other player not to get a card was criminal but again I don't see any justification for an appeal.

Unfortunately for two red cards it'll be a 4 match ban which for an important player for us will not do us any good in terms of results going forward.

Quite agree. Their manager, as stated in his post match interview, challenged his players to show their worth, which they did with 2 quick goals to more or less take the game away from us. However without the sending off I'm certain we would still have made a game of it. The withdrawal of Dan Roth didn't work and we fell apart after the sending off. I think their manager made a good call bringing on that left winger and we couldn't live with the wide open spaces down our left thereafter.

The referee was unfortunately noticeable for his clear favouring of Boring Wood on numerous occasions. Fouls given against us, whereas similar offences by BW were ignored, yellow and red cards not fairly administered, penalty decisions (I was directly in line with Scott's "offence" and it looked a great tackle).

As for our tactics, they worked brilliantly for 65 minutes and the game could have gone either way. You had to be there!

I would think any complaints against an official would have to be investigated but unless there are independent witnesses to what was said it will be pointless.

Agree RR  hearsay would be disregarded at the beginning of an investigation.
