v Boreham Wood

Boreham Wood clearly have aspirations to regain their NL status as soon as possible. Unfortunately away club supporters have to fund this in part as BW can't attract enough support of their own. They have at least allowed us into their clubhouse and let us use the covered areas of the ground!

Pricing at relegated clubs rarely reverts to NLS "normal" entrance fees as most retain full time status in an effort to gain an immediate promotion.

I've got my ticket btw!

BW are second in the table and top of the form guide going into today's game with 5 wins and 1 draw in their last 6 games.

We are 11th in the table and 16th in the form guide with 1 win 3 draws and 2 losses in our last 6 games.

Needless to say we have it all to do to stop our slide down the table.

We stay in 11th place since none of the 3 teams keeping us out of the playoffs got a point today  but there are now 4 teams behind us within 2 points all with a game in hand.

Ahead of today's game BW have signed highly rated striker Matt Rush from Sutton United.

Who scored a goal!

The attendance today was just 855 and they believe they can thrive again in NL

Well what a disaster that was.

We started ok and got a well worked equaliser after a penalty was given away by Scott Davies.

Their second goal came from poor play in our right back position which allowed a simple cross into our box from which some poor defending did the rest.

Their third goal came from getting caught out trying to play a high line off side from which a simple ball slotted through the middle made it 3-1 .

If the game wasn't over at 3-1 it certainly was with 10 men after Gilbs tried to wrestle a player over with a headlock, absolute madness.

In both full back positions and in central defence we're beginning to get caught out conceding some poorly defended goals.

Not a crisis yet but with only 1 win in 7 league games we do need to get back to winning ways pdq.

Nathan I'm more concerned about losing 5-1 to a nothing special BW side than the Ref or commentator.

I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking that BW were nothing special, although sadly I saw our 2nd half debacle coming at half-time.

I thought we were the better side during the 1st half and were unfortunate as if not for some last ditch deflections we'd have gone in ahead. However that's as good as it got, as BW (who'd clearly been given a half-time rollocking) quickly took control as we ceded the defensive third, the midfield and the final third.

Did we have a single shot during the second half? Were we coached to stand still and ignore the opposition when defending corners and crosses? Why is our recent star signing only getting a few minutes from the bench? Why sign an out-of-favour forward when it's clearly the defence and midfield which need strengthening?

Oh and yet another red card.

The DAZN feed went off for a few minutes in the 43th minute. It's a pity it didn't stay off.

Btw honourable mention to the commentator for, at 80 minutes when 4-1 down down to 10 men and having done nothing since half-time, saying we were still in the game!
