Its all got very messy in the FA Trophy.

It appears that Gosport fielded an ineligible player in their fixture against Tonbridge Angels. Having overcome Tonbridge they then went on and beat Worthing on penalties to set up a 4th Round tie with Torquay in January. This afternoon, following an FA Hearing, Gosport were expelled from the competition with further financial sanctions to be imposed. It seems likely they will appeal.

What no-one seems to know at the moment is what happens to Tonbridge / Worthing / Torquay? Are either Tonbridge or Worthing reinstated? Do Torquay simply get a bye? Do Tonbridge play Worthing for the right to play Torquay? All sorts of club statements issued by the aforementioned clubs. Everyone currently in the dark!
