Adam Thompson – our current player of the month – extremely doubtful for Saturday because of a hamstring problem.

With Thompson and Cox out for tomorrow it sounds, that leaves Benjamin and Hawkins as our only two healthy centre backs. I imagine a change of system or formation tomorrow will happen.

As soon as we gain a bit of momentum improve our attacking options we go back to having a makeshift defence. It’s very frustrating but I still have faith for tomorrow.

Parcell will surely drop back to right side centre back with Sam Youngs dropping into midfield and Chukwu making his debut?

And Joe will probably return as LWB, with Lennon moving up to play behind the front two

I think he might be being extra careful with Thompson due to his list of injuries that kept him out for a long time at Orient and other EFL clubs. I don’t think he will be rushing him back for tomorrow and hopefully he can make a quick recovery.

To be honest, I’d like to keep Peake and Leonard as wing backs if possible. They are great crossers of the ball but if Gavin thinks we do need a bit more defensive cover due to Thompson being out then he will most likely bring Payne back in.

Optimistically, I’d like a 3-5-2 with Hawkins, Benjamin and Parcell at the back. Leonard and Peake as wingbacks, Tuck and Brown centrally and Youngy a bit higher up in the middle with Chukwu and Hutchinson upfront. Both of them are very good in the air, so we should be playing to their strengths. Not to say hoof up the ball at every chance but try and get the ball out wide for crosses. With that being said, I saw in the highlights we did have some nice patterns of play centrally at Tonbridge, so as long as we keep a balance between the two, with the quality we have - it should be a decent game.

Edit: Correct me if I’m wrong, but Weston play on a 4G pitch which will help us massively. We play much better on good pitches, especially with players like Tuck who are so silky with the ball.

I totally agree but I hope he doesn't  bring Payne back in right now

Game day!

Agree with the comments above ...

Thompson should not be risked under any circumstances - he has been collossal for us - next few games are "free hits" against good sides - wrap him in cotton wool and don't risk a bigger injury, even if he declares himself fit - he is crucial to our relegation battle.

Given how well the system worked on Tuesday, think we would be mad to change now (mind games from Gavin in the pre match??). Lennon and Billy were strong at both ends of the pitch, have the legs to carry it off, and gives us more attacking options.

Lambert is inexperienced, and I don't think Joe is as effective in a back 3 (though we would get long throws for our now taller team?), so I think you would have to move Mickey into the back 3 (taking over Lewis Taaffe mantle of Mr Versatile!) - not sure who would be the centre of the 3, maybe Mickey from an organising perspective?

The gap vacated by Mickey moving could be filled by either Christian Scott or Anointed. Whilst I am really excited about the new forward signing, and would like to see us with 2 up top, I liked the set up on Tuesday so would personally opt for Christian - he looked excellent when he first joined, but some errors have seen him relegated to the bench - he has the passing ability, the legs, and would be eager to grab the chance. This would allow us to be similar in set up to Tuesday.

Trying not to get too excited - we were 7/1 to win the other day, now 5/1 !

This is a free hit, so we need to try and play with confidence, move the ball around, get it wide and see what happens. Bringing a friend who lives in Swindon - so hoping we give a good account of ourselves.

Safe journey to all travelling.
