Well I was very surprised and very pleased (of course) to hear that you had drawn against Southend.

From what I understand there is a lot of bad feeling in the ETFC dressing room.

Players are very unhappy about other players and there isn't the same old ETFC spirit !

I'm not on here winding peoplew up or trying to stir things up but its only what I heard on Saturday.

I too think it is far too soon to talk about changing the Management.

Let us not forget what we have achieved in a very short time. It is not as though we are out of it is it. We put together impressive runs of wins earlier this season another one and all this will be forgotten.

As for Snowden - I appreciate I have not seen him much this year but his assist total is still better than anyone elses this season. Has he really gone that far down hill?

>>Lovely Stuff

And I thought you knew who I was.

There were three people standing next to the bench on the halfway line side and guess which one of the three was nearest the incident.

Your recollection of events can clearly be disregarded!!

I do know that right up to the final whistle Southend were attacking at every opportunity and, it seemed to me, were looking for a winner and as our discipline broke down could very well have got one.

I have to say that the Southend manager was getting on my pip with his coaching from the touchline but he did not abuse anyone he did not give instructions, as far as I know, to time waste and I noted no intentional timewasting. Contrast the time taken for Southend to take throw ins with the times that one of our players is looking for someone to throw to. On the frequent Southend attacks did you see a winger taking the ball into a corner.

At one time the ref told one of our players had to take a throw in again as he had taken it from the wrong place. (Isn't that a foul throw ref?)

As for the coaching staff at the club. They are loyal and Jim can recognise talent and blend a team together. When you have players of the calibre of Ridout, Smith and Negus out of the side (all midfielders incidently) then the team is bound to suffer. I still think we will win the title or at least be runners up. The only team I have seen this season who were streets ahead of us was Sawbo. The rest of the league is pretty mediocre.

What we miss is a reserve side and without reserves it is very difficult to keep players in the team.

In any sport there are teams that win, teams that come second, third fourth etc. In a league situation generally the cream rises to the top and the dross gets to the bottom. If Enfield Town win a pot or two and come higher than 5th and have a stadium that is at Ryman Level I will look upon that as a pretty successful season for a club that is only three years old.

Nobody ever said it would be easy!

Steph - as ever you sum it up beautifully.

WE have set our standards high and so naturally WE all get frustrated if WE don't meet them; but like all individuals, and teams, if you set high standards and fail, you have to have the resilience to get back up and try again. Look forward to Tuesday.

p.s. as for dressing room unrest, well if you had a rocket up your ****, I think you'd be uncomfortable.

I imagine that'd be very uncomfortable Southport Towner...!

But.......its only what I heard......from an ex ETFC player on Saturday.....

Dont think they'd stir it on purpose....

They was just saying its not all sunshine and roses between the players and management...

That some of the players do not get on.....!

Steph i know exactly where you were standing in the second half....about 5 feet to the right of the bench.....As such you would have had to have x-ray vision to look through the concrete dug-out to see the moment Baldwin bent down to pick up the ball. <img src="/images/graemlins/crazy.gif" alt="" />

Also does anyone else agree that Souhend WERN'T time wasting during the second half.

Clearly all blame for time wasting and our relatively mediocre season can be laid at the door of the one obviously guilty party - nickynoc's Auntie Iris.

I believe she trains all the refs in Essex, creeps round and pulls all the grass up off our pitch, publishes manuals on time-wasting and gamesmanship and uses her womanly wiles to lure our players away to Ilford. She also sits on the FA Grounds Improvements Committee thing and deliberately held up our grant application by filibustering. While creeping round the ground she injects drugs into teh bread pudding to mak eour players ratty and bed tempered, so they get sent off a lot.

Auntie is good friends with a mad scientist and has the ability to control the weather, causing rain and snow to descend on Brimsdown at frequent intervals.

Hutton's doing nothing at the moment, he must lead an enquiry into the doings of this woman!

I find myself agreeing with Lovely Stuff.

There is a growing feeling that the weak link at the back is Snowden. We appear to have tried every combination at the back involving Stuart, surely it is time to try some without him.

He scores goals and makes assists but he takes pens and the corners.

Time for a change Jim.

THM

PS Am i the only person who thinks Quinny is a liability

When he's playing at his best, you can maybe put up with him getting sent off at regular intervals....But he is playing poorly at the moment.

So yes,at this present time,Quinny is starting to become a liability.

also if Jim keeps faith with Snowden ....then how about playing him in centre midfield and putting Brotherton back in central defence.....but i do think our defensive frailty also has a lot to do with not having any experienced full-backs.

The midfield has no real presence. We miss Ridout and badly need a central midfielder. Brotherton can be very effective in this role as he can pass well. Quinn will always get sent off if he continues to break the laws of the game. Why is Clarke so subdued? Our frontline should be scoring hatfuls of goals, but they are not.

I agree, I have always liked Brad B in midfield. This is not only for his playing abilities - ball winning, goal scoring from midfield, distribution etc but his leadership and example. Brad's passion for the game is not only gives an example but he talks to the other players, especially the younger ones.

Clark may be subdued due to a combination of poor pitches, lack of service and defences being familiar with him.

Adam willbe back soon I understand - or did he play against Southend? (I can't get to Saturday games at present). I definitley rate Adam as an excellent footballer. I also reckon Stevey Balwin is under rated, anyone agree?

Brotherton would be wasted at the back, we need him in midfield.

The service to the front line is restricted by teams coming and packing the midfield.

Think we are missing some pace from the middle. Whatever happend to Simon Miller? looked fast and strong when he joined?

and how long will Lee Smith be out?

Also we need someone to put their foot on the ball in the middle of the park, Jason CAN do this; but not enough times to make a difference.

As for Hutton enquirey intothe biased against ETFC, would prefer Hatton, he "allegedly" doesn't cost as much.

Hm, yes, we used to have loads of pace with Disco and Matty as wing backs and Clarkey at centre forward. In the old days Danny Alleyne was not exactly slow either.

Well we've got Clarkey back, and I guess Cooperman likes to run with the ball. But we've lost the width.

I agree that we miss Lee Smith, I like him either as a striker or playing behind the front two.

Daniel Francis looks like a good prospect in midfield, and ho could prove to be a provider. We need a playmaker.
