Towners v The Gulls (1-4)

Tally Ho

Can't be there but optimistically hope we can get something - a 1=1 maybe? Attendance should be 1200 + with big away support? Hopefully we can optimise £takings on the day with food and drink ..

I said at the start of the season we needed to go to a back 3/5 when we were conceding for fun - agree that the defence has improved significantly and we now need to have an extra body in attacking positions ..but not sure Gavin will make such a significant change to our shape before a game like this - I expect the Dorking approach today.

When players have run themselves into the ground I want to see earlier subs ..

We failed to get a win in November on what was an easier run of games BUT despite this the team has improved in quality and we are not THAT far from safety.

My worry is the next 5 tough league games where we could conceivably lose all 5 - and be way off safety.. but let's take one game at a time as they say .. we are still in the mix .. and if we do stay up I think it will be a greater acheivement than last year's promotion!

Gutted to see Harry join Tonbridge - thought he left beacuase it was a long term injury? As others have said he is better than any of the current forwards so now doesnt make sense ?

Also shame to see Taaffe depart - he has had injuries this season but given we have used so many different player combinations I am surprised he wasn't given a chance sitting in front of the defence this season - if it wasn't for his injury he would have started the play off semi instead of Harvest ...

Fingers crossed for today

  • Tally Ho changed the title to Towners v The Gulls (1-4)

Game of two halves....1st half we were taking it to Torquay and played some great football. Was a definite pen for us but both Torquay goals were well worked, great crosses in and no complaints being 1-2 down as match was very even. 2nd half we put some lovely balls in the box but nobody coming in at far post who wanted to get on the end of them. We looked very tired midway through second half and everything got sloppy and although 1-4 flattered Torquay a bit we can't complain when we don't take our chances.
