The thing is with time wasting just adding time on doesn't solve the fact that the flow of the game and rhythm of a team gets disrupted.

Yes of course but handing out bookings will help along with all the extra time added. There’s only so much you can do, plus let’s be totally homest we’d do exactly the same (and have done)!

Nobody likes to lose, I don't feel that negative comments are not allowed to be voiced,  when it's positive it's positive,  when it's negative it's negative,  it's just natural for people on a forum to voice they're honest opinions and also for the players and staff alike , we all hurt when things don't go in our favour and that's not to say we don't believe in the group or appreciate where we are in the table but we all remember where we were back in the ryman league barely fielding a team , getting beating everywhere, no ground , no money , folkestone on a freezing cold Tuesday eve as fans we never want to see these times return and I believe that is why it's natural to vent , when in my personal opinion and maybe others it was a horrible 1st 60 mins, and the negative commets are only because we know how good we can play and we didn't get the result we should have , we were 3/0 down and got back to 3/2 , so it shows how determined the group are but where was that for the 1st 60 mins or so , anyway on to the next game and I hope Scott will return to the forum he's been a saviour to our club and kept us where we are

Have to say Russ your post is spot on.

Of course but still bloody annoying especially when you're on the receiving end 😅

Twaddle. I'd say that there are some on here who don't like being asked questions. Often simple questions like "what are the parking arrangements for the Maidenhead game" (which then don't get answered), which then leads to much cloak-and-dagger secrecy and mistrust.

Nathan , you ask a question and don’t get answers from the club, it’s because, as SR says , it’s a FANS FORUM that is not connected to the club.

I can probably put a face to 95% of the names on the forum, if anyone is at a game then come and ask someone at the club a question.

So you can't/won't answer as this is a FANS FORUM, but you will post this on the very same FANS FORUM??? I don't want to start a row, but honestly is it against club policy to answer simple questions regarding matchday parking arrangements?

I can buy a ticket, but as to how and where to park, I'll just have to guess as that information is secret, available only to people to those who ask in person or send an email? And I can't ask in person, as the next match I can attend will be the very match we're discussing.

And in my 25 years of supporting the club, I've never had to send an email in order to be told how and where to park. Presumably the Maidenhead fans will have to do this as well (or are they special people because they don't post on here)? Answering all these individually should keep the club's office manager busy!

If they haven't yet been finalised, would it really have hurt to say "they haven't been finalised, they'll be on the website in a few days", or something to that affect? Would the club have collapsed?

Or if I've missed or misunderstood something, why not simply say so? Why this big song & dance?

No wonder this forum is dying. People flounce off when confronted with opinions and people are treated like troublemakers for asking questions.

And as this fans forum is not in any way connected to the club, may I respectfully suggest renaming it as it's clearly titled "Slough Town forum" at the top of the page, we wouldn't want people to get the wrong idea!

I post on here as a FAN , as I’ve been a FAN of this club for over 40 years. I don’t read every post or topic hence why questions go unanswered but in my small role at the club, not involved with any decision making, I have tried to answer anything I see. I won’t be doing it anymore as this is post.

Oh by the way Nathan, you may not have had to contact the club for an answer in 25 years but your Dad had a question about Maidenhead game and he did contact the club, he’s sensible, try being more like him.

Correct; this is a FANS FORUM, frequented by FANS of Slough Town Football Club, where topics relating to Slough Town Football Club are discussed (You wouldn't be on here if it wasn't; is it your job to explain why questions won't get answered?).

The thing about FANS is that they care about their club, and so praise/criticise their club & team as they see fit. FANS may sometimes also ask questions.

I'm asking as a FAN. I wasn't demanding an answer from you personally, I don't care who answers just so long as somebody does. Does it really matter whether its by a FAN or by an official?

Why email the club about a general question that will effect lots of people, unless for some reason I need special arrangements? I don't.

And we're only talking about the parking, not the in and outs of a ducks arse, so no need for all this secrecy. This is getting ludicrous.

Nathan,

The sub-deck for the forum is an "an unofficial forum for fans of Slough Town."  Pretty clear to me. This isn't affiliated with the club and not linked to the official website as long ago the club decided it didn't want to be closely associated with the contents.

I don't go on a Chelsea supporters forum and expect Todd Boehly (or indeed any director, employee or volunteer) to answer my queries in an official capacity.

Maybe the parking arrangements haven't been formally announced yet because no final decision has been made?

As I can only attend infrequently these days, I didn't buy a parking permit. So games I do go to I leave early and park in the unreserved spaces or on street parking in the vicinity or I wing it and park further away and maybe miss the kick off.

I managed to make this work for the Yeovil game which had a big crowd too.

Hope that helps.

Not sure why it's taking so long but a reliable source at the club did say that the club are still deliberating whether to charge for parking or not.

It doesn't help someone like Nathan who lives 2.5 hours away and wants to get everything confirmed asap but surely the clubs decision must be imminent.

Can't work out if to change for parking!

And that is the mentality running the club.

Good job it is a "sports and leisure" company and not a real world company where important decisions are made.

Martin, I am familiar with the concept of an unofficial forum as I used to run an unofficial website.

I wasn't expecting Ashley Smith, Mike Lightfoot or any of the directors to personally answer any queries on here, merely someone who is in-the-know. Only a handful of people post/lurk on here and most know (or at least know of) each other, so official forum or not I figured there must be someone (be they a fan, official or volunteer) who may be in a position to answer. I know that several volunteers lurk (even if they don't post often).

So far the only answer I've received has been from Reading Rebel who, as far as I'm aware, is neither an official nor a volunteer. Would it have made the slightest bit of difference if he was one?

This is more than likely. However, as it is not mentioned on the club's website page or Twitter/X post (not even a sentence saying "parking arrangements to be announced in due course"), I thought I'd ask as there is a possibility that the parking arrangements may make it unfeasible for me to attend.

That still leaves the question as to why the priority ticket window has passed without any word; I was considering whether or not to buy a ticket. I took a chance and did, I'm now wondering if it was the right decision.

I'm pretty certain one way or another you'll be ok for parking Nathan.

Davies - 1/10 (at best). Perhaps in his interview or on here he can explain why, as the manager and leader of the team, he lost the ball on the half way line and decided not to chase his heart out to get back, which then cost us their eventual winning goal. Lazy work and very poor from the boss in his 2nd anniversary.

Bayliss - brain dead move capped off by far his worse performance for us.

Gilbert - poor today for the first time.

Ochieng - worst game for us by far.

These have been top performers for a while and in the last couple of games they have looked diabolical.

Biggest issue is now, with Bayliss banned, no defensive changes possible as we only have 5 defenders in the squad. I keep being told that doesn't matter, but where is the challenge for them when they know they start every week regardless of performance.

Simply not good enough.

The win against Chippenham shows just how out of touch with what happens in football

Exactly.  Looking again at the first 2 Welling goals it was apparent that they got very lucky with deflections.

I don't think there's any argument that our first half defensive performance was not up to scratch.

Second half better but you can't defend the first half goals conceded.

Why, did the win last night change the performances on Saturday? If anything I hope (and I strongly doubt it as I'm not that important but) Scott posted this comment on the board and said let's prove this bloke wrong. Doesn't change my thoughts on Saturday at all regardless of result as I'm not sure you are aware, but they are different games?
