Now Scotty has gone from here, I’m off too because to be blunt, this forum is nothing but people spouting negative bollocks!

Yes let's all flounce off this forum because some people said that we weren't very good in the aftermath of a match in which we weren't very good.

This is totally irregular, unbecoming of football supporters, something only we doomsayers on here would possibly contemplate and absolutely definitely doesn't happen on any other football forum ever.

There was me thinking this was a football forum where supporters discussed good and bad results/and performances.

It's a shame and disappointing that Scott feels he doesn't want to contribute when the vast majority, if not all praise him and the players when they win and perform well and give their honest opinions, mostly without slagging players off, when they don't.

Whether it's this forum, X or Facebook you'll always get differing opinions which will not be nice and you don't like or agree with.

Will Scott, Windsor Rebel or G Brown boycott those social media platforms which are far worse because they don't like what they read?

Of course they won't.

Nathan, it's because some words have been said, which everyone is entitled to without crossing a line, which they don't like and agree with.

A bit like the toys being thrown out of the pram.

As I said the same people will be and remain on X and Facebook and other social media platforms where the abuse if far worse.

You are very brave behind a device, Reading Rebel. You know absolutely nothing about me, Windsor Rebel or Scott so don’t pretend too. Whereas you spend your life on here, which tells everyone exactly what they need to know about you:

As for you, Nathan. I think you’ll find it’s called glass half empty.

Well done guys, that’s probably the end of this forum…… over time the board members have had unjust criticism & abuse that appears to have lead to them not posting on here & now the same appears to have been done with the players & manager.

Twaddle. I'd say that there are some on here who don't like being asked questions. Often simple questions like "what are the parking arrangements for the Maidenhead game" (which then don't get answered), which then leads to much cloak-and-dagger secrecy and mistrust.

A couple of minor negative comments about a poor game and the toys go out the pram!

It's a good job that those new to this forum (joined in the last couple of years) were not around in the early days of this forum and it's predecessor.

In those days it was far more volatile.

All I need to say is Liam.

To the point that an individual who updates the historical database was the instigator of the "Brown out" campaign.

So maybe the delicate little souls who have been forced to reach for the Kleenex to wipe up there tears, best not read this FANS FORUM.

This Forum is totally independent of the club, and if you want a site where you can blow smoke up the managers and players arse then the Slough Town supporters trust X (twitter) site may suit you better.

G Brown whats being brave behind a device got to do with having an opinion?

Again does sound a bit childish of an older supposedly mature person to say such a thing.

You're right I don't know much about you the same as you know nothing about me.

TBF in those days this forum was a pretty nasty place and I'm certainly glad it's become more gentle and serene 😅

Maybe Scott will pair Spasov and Evans together again as a variation in his  formation plans. Slough came close to getting a draw with their defenders having the extra forward to mark it created space and supported Slavi who has clever movement and a good touch but isn't as physical as Evans

Ogbonna is very consistent with his crossing and ability to take on full backs but Gilbert looked a threat from the wing too. Welling tlme wasted which meant it was hard to keep the higher tempo going and it did limit the actual time left to play. The worst aspect was their keeper pretending to be injured, gamesmanship but hard to decide if a player is actually injured. There will be dips in performance and Slough aren't a big budget side but Scott is doing a very credible job getting us up near the play offs. A few loan deals would be ideal now. Not many teams have a defender who can pass as accurately as Scott either and it is always a pleasure watching him ping the ball around!

Agree with most of what you say.

Personally at home against a side short on confidence, although it didn't look like it in the first half, I would have liked to see us play with 2 forwards to put them under pressure.

The only bit I probably disagree with is Oggys crossing when he gets past a player or to the byline which imo needs improving.

I think it's been mentioned before by Scott that Oggy is aware that this is the part of his game that needs improving.

The other bit of time wasting that's now in the game and annoying when you're losing is this 5 subs business.

Although good in some respects it now gives teams even more leeway to waste time.

Flyer, if I had said "you should never post negatively", then your response would be fair.  But instead I said I disagree with your take & I think it should be ignored. I also think that when the vast majority of comments are positive, its best to ignore the negative comments so, in answer to your question, no I don't think players should ignore positive comments after good performances / results.

Your response also implies that it might be helpful for players to see criticism when it's due.  But its not fooling anyone to say that "1/10 at best" is helpful. It's just a rant.

What's weird here is that Scott said the result was poor and said we were down to "bare bones", reflecting your concerns.  But again, "everything [is not] ok" while we're in 8th (and dominated the game yesterday, although lots of mistakes) is just venting.

Josh - do you also hope that Scott and those same players ignore all the positive comments that are made after a good performance/ result? You have to take the good with the bad and even in your comments about the game it shows what a poor performance front and back we had yesterday. They had 5/6 shots yesterday and we let in 50% of them (goalie and defence to blame?) and we had 25+ shots and only scored 2 of them (midfield / attack to blame?).

I'm quite surprised that the manager and the captain aren't more concerned that after a poor performance against Chatham, (even of we are generous and say) a poor result against Welling and now a load of injuries and suspensions, everything seems ok?

But why should making subs be allowed to waste time? Surely the ref should stop their watch each time, problem solved no?

Fair points well made Josh. I think there is 100% a proportion of venting and probably more so frustration in the performance of players that we know are all very talented and are better than we saw yesterday and previously against Chatham, especially given the amazing home form over the last 14 months or so.

We will need to see a marked improvement in the next few games to ensure that a poor performance doesn't become a poor run.

That's very fair, and on the other foot a bit of frustration is natural after a loss.  🤞 the players recover well & give a good team performance on Tuesday

Nobody likes to lose, I don't feel that negative comments are not allowed to be voiced,  when it's positive it's positive,  when it's negative it's negative,  it's just natural for people on a forum to voice they're honest opinions and also for the players and staff alike , we all hurt when things don't go in our favour and that's not to say we don't believe in the group or appreciate where we are in the table but we all remember where we were back in the ryman league barely fielding a team , getting beating everywhere, no ground , no money , folkestone on a freezing cold Tuesday eve as fans we never want to see these times return and I believe that is why it's natural to vent , when in my personal opinion and maybe others it was a horrible 1st 60 mins, and the negative commets are only because we know how good we can play and we didn't get the result we should have , we were 3/0 down and got back to 3/2 , so it shows how determined the group are but where was that for the 1st 60 mins or so , anyway on to the next game and I hope Scott will return to the forum he's been a saviour to our club and kept us where we are

The thing is with time wasting just adding time on doesn't solve the fact that the flow of the game and rhythm of a team gets disrupted.
