Considering how Welling played at AP back in April, they looked destined for better things.

Rod Stringer's last chance saloon?

Play to the best of our ability like we did against Dorking and we shouldn't have a problem.

But play like we did in the Chatham game and who knows what the outcome will be.

Our goals are being shared around but lots of very good chances are falling to Slavi who, for his own confidence, needs to start putting some of these chances away.

I'm sure he'll come good but it's 1 goal in 8 games for him.

Didn’t realise their form was so bad, potential banana skin with our excellent home form! But these are the type of games we need to win if we wish to keep our play off place.

“After five straight defeats in the league and FA Trophy, the Wings will be hoping to arrest their run of form and aim to look up the Vanarama National League South table.”

As poor a first half as your likely to see all season.

It really did look as if one side wanted to win and the other side was going through the motions.

Poor defensively, poor in midfield and when we got the ball out wide and in a good position our final delivery from Oggy and Amartey was simply not good enough.

Personally I'd have changed it at half time but when we did and in desperation started playing with 2 up front we started to cause them some real problems.

We got back into the game at 3-2 and had them on the back foot and rocking only for Amartey to miss two chances in front of goal that looked easier to score than miss. This would have completed a miraculous comeback unfortunately you've got to take your chances when they arrive.

Overall a game to forget and the choice of substitute Sam Evans as motm speaks volumes.

Davies - 1/10 (at best). Perhaps in his interview or on here he can explain why, as the manager and leader of the team, he lost the ball on the half way line and decided not to chase his heart out to get back, which then cost us their eventual winning goal. Lazy work and very poor from the boss in his 2nd anniversary.

Bayliss - brain dead move capped off by far his worse performance for us.

Gilbert - poor today for the first time.

Ochieng - worst game for us by far.

These have been top performers for a while and in the last couple of games they have looked diabolical.

Biggest issue is now, with Bayliss banned, no defensive changes possible as we only have 5 defenders in the squad. I keep being told that doesn't matter, but where is the challenge for them when they know they start every week regardless of performance.

Simply not good enough.

Ok, so we weren’t at our best, there were individual errors and we struggled to adapt to the conditions in the first half, Scotty and the players will know that BUT 28 games left to play, we’re 8th and still over achieving, we’d all do well to acknowledge that and the fact that days like today happen in football…

Onto the next one, we’ll be fine 💛💙

I agree with most of what's been said so far, except for the bits about us overachieving in 8th place. Given that we finished 10th last season, surely this is roughly where we're aiming to be? Do we have not any faith in Scotty or the squad?

A very poor performance overall (despite our late-game dominance), especially the first half where we didn't turn up at all. This was yet another match against a side who are struggling where most of the team had absolute nightmares; Amartey for the chances missed, Bayliss for losing his head at the end, Ochieng who I'd forgotten was on the pitch until he got booked etc.  It was simply one of those days, but this seems to happen to us a lot when playing against struggling teams.

As for Welling, with all due respect I thought they were pretty poor throughout (even when 3-0 up) and resorted to feigning injury to slow the game down when the going got tough. The difference between us was that they took 3 chances whereas we fluffed ours.

It’s not about having faith or doubting Scott, look at our squad and the majority have come from 1 or 2 levels below. We don’t have the budget like many other clubs do to buy ‘seasoned’ step 1 or 2 players. Even then there’s no guarantee it brings you success! But it does show what good management and coaching we have to firstly identify these players and make them better. Until we start averaging well over 1,000 bring in new revenue streams and add more bigger sponsors then we have to accept just staying up is an achievement. Anything higher than mid table has to be classed as a very good season.

It was a day where the conditions meant we had to roll up our sleeves and battle for the ball and unfortunately for us Welling did just that.

They were desperate for the points chasing and battling and closing us down and got what they deserved.

On Bayliss do we know what he was sent off for?

Hopefully not serious foul play or violent conduct as that will be a 3 match ban.

I left the ground and came straight back to work and just looked now and seen Baylis got sent off? What did I miss? On the game itself as soon as we started playing the ball on the ground and passing it we looked so much better.  these long diagonal balls very rarely work! I can see why we do it but much rather watch us pass through teams.

I missed the incident, as as far as I was concerned the Welling player was rolling around on the floor with not a lot else happening. Then out of the blue he gets sent off, with people in the stand saying they saw him hit the player!

As he was walking off he was angrily muttering about something being "embarrassing". Make of that what you will!

Bayliss got sent off because the lino said he stamped on the player, which is a 3 match ban.

More bad news, it seems Lexus will miss Tuesday's game because of 2 red cards which is a two match ban.

I think Scott said Henry misses Tuesdays game probably because of 5 yellow cards.
