Penalties eh? Oh well, we can now concentrate on the League blah, blah, blah,   Oh, and the Essex Senior Cup of course.  Which personally I’d like us to give a real go, but I’m not in charge.  Yet.   Mind you I am in charge of the Prediction League and frankly that’s not going at all well!

Of those that are doing better than me (which is everyone), champion-elect Marta needs just one more point to secure her first championship.  Only one man can stop her – and yes it’s Mr D.  A case of the Prediction League mimicking real life methinks?   

And we have a new leader in Division 2 where Mysterious Nick looks like outdoing Keegan’s Newcastle in terms of blowing an apparently unassailable lead.  MikeMike has clearly tweaked his algorithm and is now on course for a shock triumph. Irrespective of who finishes top they have both secured promotion, so well done both.  And no you don’t get a trophy.

Relegation and play-off news?  Well Adrian was so relaxed about staying up that he missed the prediction cut-off time and has now slipped into the relegation spots, with Luke taking full advantage to move into the safety zone.  If it’s any consolation Adrian, you’d have lost anyway (8-6), but set that alarm clock for next week! 

As for the Div 2 playoffs, I can’t see Fat Tom making it, but everyone else except Nick and MikeMike are still in play for either auto-promotion or a possible play-off place.   It’s all to play for folks.  So don’t forget.

By the way, I’m using 880 as the attendance as this is given on the BBC site (there’s nothing on footballwebpages or the Enfield site at the time of writing).  If anyone knows better please let me know,  but having been at the match 880 feels about right so I won’t be changing the results now.
