Enfield Town vs Salisbury

Sorry to disappoint you boys but I’m neither a family member or one of the coaching team. I pay my money to watch just like anyone else.

My “detailed defence” of Hutchinson was nothing more than some mitigation in defense of a young player who was being individually criticized and / or held accountable for a problem that’s dogged us all season and one that he’s done as much as anyone to improve on recently in a team that has demonstrated several, if not many problems!!

I’m with you Towning this is one thing that really pisses me off .. every single striker we have brought in has always been deemed to be “not up to it”…. don’t matter how much experience or what previous record they had before they come to us all of a sudden they are not good enough… you are spot on Ronaldo would struggle with this teams service it’s basically non existent …. but again no criticism of the managers tactics just all down to the players… jeez out of the 38 we have now had only about 5 seemingly are ok… cant anyone spot a common denominator … we have a manager who is out of his depth and can’t even drill a team how to play out a game… If the players are not doing what the manager tells them as Gavin often suggests then he is obviously not getting his point across… time to get someone in who can…

Yep that's a great idea....sack the manager and bring in someone to upset the dynamic even more, rearranging what's trying to be built and see how that works out.....be careful what you wish for!

Don't worry Towningaround I get accused of that also as some just can't accept graciously contrasting points of view

Remember this is a forum - people are bound to have different views on players, managers and rightly so! I’m glad we do.

This is a rough patch for everyone at the club, but people should of been expecting that when we lost our best player 2 weeks before the season started and was struggling trying to find replacements and or reinforcements in certain areas. I think we are looking way better at the moment then we was say last month against Hampton.

As for sacking Gavin, I think that ship has sailed now. If we wanted to do it, it most likely would of done a while back, before the 2 week break. There’s definitely time still, but I doubt it. WDIB, you do make valid points about Gavin and yes maybe we’re giving him too much leigh way but I think we can survive in this league with or without Gavin. We are 5 points away from Bath, that can change in a matter of a week or 6! Still a lot of football to be played.

Edit: As for Hutchinson, I don’t think he is a player we can rely on to score goals, yet maybe we aren’t giving him the service he needs. Clearly people think different about those topics and that’s for a persons interpretation.

At least we have got a new keeper … i’ve heard he plays up front as well 😀… Gavin must be worried Reece will leave otherwise it’s a pretty pointless signing…

Apparently Rhys has a groin strain. With Adi out longer term and no-one else owning a pair of gloves, it was pretty essential we got a replacement in!

Yes he needed treatment on Saturday but with no replacement on the bench I guess he had no choice but to play on. Makes sense to rest him in a minor cup match in the hope that he is ok for Saturday

No one else owning a pair of gloves...are you implying that anyone could just replace Rhys then? I'm sure it's been said before that he has been on this forum so comments like that will undoubtedly fill him with Towner spirit! If he does see this I hope he also sees that not every person is negative on here and that is not aimed exclusively to you TCC

Surely no-one would dispute Rhys has been our best player this season

Apparently nobody else had gloves otherwise they could have stepped in, baffles my brain, as I too think he has been our best player and despite having a big goals conceded figure those are not from his errors and he has bailed the defence out sweeping consistently....I'm at a loss

I did wonder if it was gamesmanship why he went down to let a team talk happen but he was obviously actually injured given developments today
