Solomon is injured, Tanner on a dual reg with, I think, Carshalton

Surely Harry fits that category?

Not sure I would put Ottoway in the same category as Wyllie; he has as much age as he does experience that's for sure. However, yes he could perhaps help a youngster (if he could keep up with them) and we desperately need a firing front line. Midfield is where we need a couple of players who will control the game, win first balls never mind second and feed into and support the strikers. A role that Youngs played well last season but has failed to do since stepping up.

Hi its me back again.

Forgot my password for the old account so now under a different name.

I will probably be corrected by the moderator but as far as I know there were only 4 players with recent regular first team appearences. I speak of Forster, Parcell, Taafe and Beckles Richards. Of these BR and Taafe are not regular players in the first team.

With this line up we hit the bar twice and at least 2 open goals were very badly missed. The team that was picked was not our first team. Their goalkeeper was busier than Forster. Our defence looked reasonably solid (despite the goal which occurred when we had a period of sustained pressure). In other words it was not all doom and gloom and the manager had a chance to look at our strength in the reserves.

We have the same problem we have had all season we have not got a regular goal scorer and, until we do get a RGS, we will continue to struggle.

Maybe the commentators didn’t do us justice because it felt like we had a few chances but Athletic Newham could of scored about 3 or 4 times.

Jay Lambert apparently had a good game at the back (academy player) which is good if we need a bit of depth at the back if Cox and Mills leave soon but it sounds to me we lack a bit of firepower off the bench in a NLS game.

When it went 2-1 against Chesham on Saturday, they brought on about 2 or 3 players who completely changed the outlook of the game as we made a change for a more defensive sided outlook. Their substitutes completely did what they was asked to, to change the game and pounce on tired legs. Not to sound harsh but compared to our attacking depth pieces on the bench, do we think any of them could change the game like substitutes on other teams keep doing to us in the NLS?

And I agree with the RGS statement. We need a striker badly, and Ottoway is now 36 yes he brings bags of experience but we can’t be relying on him to be a proficient goal-scorer. Hopefully Hutchinson is off to the races with a goal on Saturday.

Think Sam benefited greatly from having Wyllie last season (like everyone would) but if we surround him with another hungry top striker trying to prove themselves to a higher league I think we would see the Sam Youngs from last year.

And the midfield is a massive issue, we nearly always lose the second ball in the middle and we only really have Tuck who has superb passing ability to spread the ball out in wide areas like we love to do. To be honest, I think Mills could do a great job in the middle (great passer, can run forever and is superb at defending) too with Tuck but maybe that would be too much lacking of experience in the middle.

Very Concerning how a club of our stature can lose to average level 5 opposition ( I think they were previously known as London APSA). Our playing staff need to buck up their Idea's a bit sharpish as this debacle just Isn't acceptable. To be honest 3/4 of them need to jump in Andy Leese's Taxi and go..
