What game was Paul Wotton at??

First half i thought we were excellent, contained the threat from Torquay and led from a super goal from Liam. Thought Manny and Tom managed the midfield. Truth be told Torquay did press but not much came from it in the first half, although Mason did make an excellent double save. Second half and three changes from Torquay which i thought made it rather scrappy. Scans ran them ragged on the left but the final ball never reached a finish. Second goal was a bit of a blur, but settled the nerves for a second. Torquays consolation brought them back into the game, but I will have to see the highlights to remind me how soft it was.

We held on and a well deserved three points. Manny ,Tom and Scans my MoM.

Well done!

Dark arts,us  ?

Nice spin on the old 'we lost because they wouldn't let us play' excuse.

Presumably 'dark arts' doesn't include twice cynically hacking down opposition players on the half way line when they would have had a clear run on goal.

Here's someone else who can't admit that they lost to the better side on the day:

I love the little digs-

"Hornchurch went 1-0 ahead in the seventh minute...a quick free kick was lumped forward.."

"It was 2-0 in the 60th minute when, on the break after a back pass which was picked up by the Hornchurch goalkeeper..."

"Dean Moxey came on for a battered and bruised Foulston"

"Mussa went down in the penalty area twice after the goal but both times the referee decided they were good challenges"

It's all so desperate and pathetic. Torquay are a big club and I would expect a little more dignity.

Whoever is Torquay manager will be under intense pressure every game and thus will always need a ready made excuse book.

The current manager in his pre-game presser mentioned that he was as far away as ever from where he wants the team to be, so seems to be permanently in the excuse realm.

Torquay moved the ball quickly for a few spells but I felt reasonably comfortable that our shape would take care of further progression up the pitch, and it did.

I've no doubt that Torquay can play better but so can we.

We're a match for any team home or away.

A lot of teams can say the same, which makes this league all the more exciting.

A big well done to the team. A massive result and looking better in the league.

I thought I was watching the whole game intently but I can't remember a back pass from us picked up by our keeper.

I remember it. One of their forwards was running towards goal. One of our defenders put in a challenge and got their foot on the ball which Terry picked up. There was a half-hearted appeal but no referee at that level would ever give that as a backpass.
