We've scored 21 goals (including the Enfield 6) so have6 others( or more )If our shots to passes ratio is as stated we must be missing a lot! I'm a little concerned that our last 6 league games have produced 6/18 points 1 win 3 draws 2 losses with some higher up the table teams to play shortly.

Think you’ve missed the point. We don’t have many passes in the lead up to taking a shot… as we aren’t possession based and won’t mess around with the ball at the back.

Our expected goals from the chances we’ve created is 21.15 and we currently have 21 goals so we are pretty much where we should be.

It’s almost as though you want me to apologise for the lads scoring 6 at Enfield?! 😅 ‘yeah but…6 of those came against Enfield’, it’s facts, the goals have been scored and it doesn’t matter the batches they arrive in!

Scott No apology necessary Just accurately reporting fact without comment.

We aren’t a possession based team but we do have the highest XG (expected goals) across the north and south with chances created.

We average a shot every 18 passes (lowest pass per shot rate in the north and south), St Albans every 55 passes.

If possession wins games then it’s a new rule to me. We’re happy to be without it as we know what our strengths are. 👍🏼

Scott,

I’ve seen those sort of statistics for Football League clubs but didn’t know they were available for non league teams.

The problem is the vast majority of football watched is the Premier League on TV where the statistics do show that the most successful teams are those that dictate possession, and make the most passes, especially successful passes in the attacking third.

It becomes less the case the further down the pyramid you look at though…… but the majority of fans & Managers at all levels still seem to have an expectation that if their club play Premier League style football they will win the league.

Reading Rebel is on it.  His manager (David Noble) called him "different class".  Our manager, see above and his interview.  Didn't say our fans.

To be fair though JJ, their manager isn't going to say he got beat for 1 of the Slough goals and looked rank average and I probably should have taken him off after 60 minutes. That's his big recent signing.
