Insane Torquay “soft segregation” rumours

Recommended Posts

So I was told yesterday   that for the home game against Torquay the whole of the Riverside stand will be allocated to Torquay fans only.

In 3 of the last 4 seasons a portion of the stand was allocated to away supporters for our two play off final defeats and Chelmsford City this season.

Why Torquay are expected to appear in even greater numbers than those 3 fixtures is beyond me.

But even if that was the  case why on earth are we handing over our best seats to away supporters?

Why are we telling supporters who have been sitting in this stand for years that they have to go elsewhere?

Why tell supporters who literally have their names on a seat that they have to go elsewhere?

Giving people who will come to the ground just once a season priority treatment over people who come to every home game is a insane business model.

This sets a precedent. What other games can we expect to be evicted from because people who do not support the club are considered more important than the ones that ?

I look forward to being told that this is exactly as I described it - insane  rumours

Rumour is they only took 150 to Eastbourne yesterday!

That’s incorrect. Look at the Torquay forum who said they took 500.

I can confirm the soft segregation will be going ahead to assist with security.

A full announcement will be soon. It’s only an advised fan zone to help keep everyone one position. There is simply no other area they can go in the ground.

Good point at home to Torquay.
Fair result, not much to separate the sides.
Well done to the 150 or so Torquay fans that travelled.

Like everything in life it depends on who you listen to.

Surely it would be more prudent to place the segregation on the eastside seating area. The seating there is closer to the toilets, bar and the refreshments and then easier to escort them from the ground at the end.

What facilities are on the riverside to generate revenue? None!

So both Hornchurch and Torquay fans can still choose to go wherever they like.

Great, I look forward to spending the afternoon with Torquay supporters then.
