Regressed

Recommended Posts

Wasn't able to make today but listened to the radio coverage. Another abject performance by the sound of it? I believe we've regressed massively from last year, we seem to be far too open this season yet don't create half the chances, granted I know the opposition is obviously better but I'd have expected the new recruits to be of a better standard too (jury is still out tbh). We've got a manager who was a set piece coach at orient yet we don't score or even look like scoring from them...go figure 😂

Collecting defenders and forwards along the way when we are crying out for a midfielder that can bring abit of energy to the side is puzzling too anyway rant over let's hope for an upturn in performances sooner rather then later. 🤞

As previously eluded too our formation does not suit the 11 players on the pitch. The set pieces are getting embarassing now, we seem to concede from a fair few yet our line of attack is aim for Scotty which in this league everyone knows about as all games are scouted and he is always at the back post and the corners are over hit and go out for a goal kick!

Dorking were nothing to shout home about and if we pressed and kept the ball better we would have won. Either the whole team presses or we don’t, you don’t leave one person running down everything whilst certain others just sit there n think about their pay check at the end of the game.

I know the gaffer gave them a rocket at half time but the verdict is still out until he changes things and goes for something different. Don’t want the Dagenham fans being right but at the minute they are…….

Onwards n upwards

Prior to today I don't think we were crying out for a midfielder .. the reason we don't have the energy in midfield is we're constantly playing 2 in the middle against 3 opponents. Today we looked to address it with Adams, Harvest and Wraight but we were back to square 1 following Tom's injury in the warm up. Having said that Manny was excellent again throughout. We need 3 in the middle to compete.

Issue for me though is the defence - we can't chop and change the way we do. We've played 13 games this season. Mason and Scotty have played all 13, yet we've had 9 different combinations in the other 3 positions. You can't form an understanding when you don't know who's on your left or right.

I think this is the problem and that’s why we are seeing the mistakes happen, we can’t get an understanding in the back.

As a club we are new to this level. The gap between step 2 and 3 has definitely increased since we were last here. Things may not yet be currently going the the way we wish, but I’m convinced we will see improvements as the season progresses. The club is well run behind the scenes and we have experienced coaches. DON’T WORRY WE WE BE O.K

The aim for me this season is to stay up. Last time we were in this division we went straight back down. It took us a good few years to return to this level too. Yes, it's great to win more games than you lose and I know the club have greater aspirations than this but if we stay in the league it'll be a successful season. COYU

I’m certain we are not going to win the league this season - I’m also certain we are not going to be relegated either. Think the problems will get sorted out. As already mentioned get a settled defence and we will start picking up points
