'Rebels' Bar

Recommended Posts

Fantastic news that our new 'Rebels' Bar will be officially opened this Saturday.

The club are making a big day of it with local title chasing boxer Adam Azim opening the new bar.

A group has been laid on with the 'Jersey Four' providing the after match entertainment.

Just to reiterate that, for some unknown reason, the group will not start playing until around 7.30.

RR your dreams have been answered you have been complaining that the rebels  has not been open since the first home gamenow you are going to have to find another topic of conversation maybe a football topic

My only real complaint was having to miss some of the game to get in the queue for some half time refreshment.

Hopefully that will now be a bit easier.

Azim is going to be a star in the future, I'm a massive boxing fan and really glad to see the club getting him involved.

i think in my honest opinion that it would have been better to open the rebels bar with a local football celebrity rather than another sport after all we are a football club not a boxing gym think it would have brought a lot more punters in think we have missed a trick here

To be honest with you I can understand why they have done it and also can appreciate why they have.

in the nicest possible way the majority of supporters at arbour park are of a certain demographic and in such a multi diverse town such as Slough I imagine there is an untapped possibility of encouraging more supporters to attend the games.

hooefully the visit of Adam and possible more different guests will encourage more people to attend games.

I was very impressed looking around ‘Rebels’ today. You can see a lot of effort and expense has gone into it and I’m sure it’ll be a valuable asset and an important additional revenue stream for the club. Hopefully the club can get loads of new bookings for it.

Maybe an idea is to invite ex Rebel favourites to the new bar? Even have a quick Q&A might be of interest?

Glad you like it Glen, lots of time and effort went in to get it right for the fans. Massive congratulations to Ashley and Steve for there desire to get this done and the delay was by no means the fault of the clubs.
Such an honour to have been involved and a proud moment for me when it opened today, enjoy Rebels.

Very impressed with our new 'Rebels' bar.

Great to have 4 Tvs showing the live match.

With 4 screens to look at if possible rather than have them all showing the same game could 1 or 2 show a different game or sport or maybe Sky sports news?

Or as suggested before previous highlights of Slough goals, team news, interviews from Scott and players etc.

I know that we're paying more for such things for the convenience, matchday experience etc. and I wouldn't mind, knowing that the money is going to the club. But £8 for a 50ml measure of Jack Daniels is ridiculous.

That would be for a double so presumably £4 for a single.

So no more expensive than an average pub?

To put it into perspective, Tesco's are currently selling 35cl bottles of JD for £13, or £37.14 per litre (we're paying £8 for 50ml, which equates to £160 per litre).

As 50ml goes into 35cl 7 times, absolute price parity would therefore be £13 / 7 = £1.86 for a 50ml measure. Obviously this is ridiculously low for any bar that doesn't have the purchasing power of Tescos (which I'm assuming we don't 😁).

Nonetheless, anyone why pays £8 for a 50ml measure obviously has more money than sense!

But they do need to cover the costs of the bar and make Ashley a profit.

Nathan you cannot compare pub/bar prices with a Supermarket.

I would say £4 for a Jack Daniels in most pubs apart from a Wetherspoons is around the £4 mark.

I can (and will) if our price for 50ml is not much cheaper than a supermarket price for 350ml!

As I said, I expect to pay a lot more than that (and I don't begrudge that), as I understand the principle of economies of scale and would like my money to go to the club rather than a supermarket. But there comes a point where if I wanted a Jack Daniels, I'd be far better off by bringing my own bottle to the ground.
