the last time i went to woking it was a freezing saturday  the ground was frozen solid and the ball bounced around like a whammo super ball(one for the oldies) then i do believe our next match there was called off due to holes appearing all over the pitch oh and i do believe they do not like bands there as it upsets the neighbours apparently

This was on the Woking forum.

Is that?

8. Neal Stanley

9. Tommy Langley

10. Steve Thompson

That’s the first time I’ve seen footage of Wexham Park pre-conference era, in those days I recall spending just as much time on the training pitch behind the goal playing headers & volleys with other kids rather than watching the actual main match 😂

Any score predictions?

Woking have only scored more than one goal in one of their seven home league matches, & I think we have enough attacking threats to score at least once, so for me it’s going to be:-

1-1

But in a much tougher division.

With Stockport, Wrexham, Notts County, Chesterfield & Grimsby being promoted in the last three seasons I don’t think the gap between Step 1 & 2 is anywhere near as big as it was.

Quote from Woking manager:-

Doyle said: “Everyone at the club remembers what happened last year, losing to Ramsgate* and it caused a lot of hurt. Slough are a very good side who will be well up for the match.”

*Ramsgate 2 Woking 1 (Ramsgate were Step 4)

I tend to take these comments from oppo managers with a pinch of salt.

They always do their utmost to guard against complacency.
