Shocker

Recommended Posts

I have a had a few hours to digest yesterday's shocker of a performance.

It was always going to be a challenge with two new players in the back four.

The 4-2-3-1 or variations of that is not working and we are getting found out for being too narrow in midfield. Crichlow torn us apart on the left yesterday and we did not realise the risk until it was too late.

Chelmsford knew what had to be done and executed it to perfection.

Very difficult to watch!

I didn't expect us to be as dominate as we were last season, this is a tough league. Didn't see a great deal of the first half but by all accounts Chelmsford were the better side. Second goal right on the stroke of half time was a sickener.

Second half I think we had more possession but didn't really create too much of a threat to the goal (half chance for Liam and a chip from George Saunders that was agonisingly close) but little else.  Agree with the statement above our play got compressed to one part of the field on occasions rather than being able to take advantage of the full width like we usually do but Chelmsford need to be given credit for that.

When the new players bed in and we get a rhythm going I think we will improve. Well done to Chelmsford, we move on from this and we have an FA cup to look forward to.

I will just add that we are still playing better football than we did under Stimson
