Well that was predictably terrible. Set up with 5 at the back and our last remaining striker often completely isolated, if you weren't at the game then you can probably imagine how it went. You get a fair amount of leeway as a manager if you win promotion. However the manner of defeats has been depressing for a fan to watch. We seem to start each and every game with a fear of losing - everyone in their own half, behind the ball and compact. There is next to no prospect of us scoring a goal playing that way - Gavin just doesn't want us to concede. The trouble is that the team is not good enough to play that way! I would much rather we go into an FA Cup game with 3 up top and give the opposition something to worry about. Ok, we may lose 3-4, but at least we'd be having a good go. 9 games into the season and Gavin seems intent on not changing his philosophy. His body language is terrible. Frankly, I could manage an ETFC team to defeats every week. There's now absolutely no hiding the fact that Gavin's success was married to Marcus's goals. Its time for a managerial change before the decreasing crowds (500 today) drop any more.

*Meanwhile, our dual-reg'd striker Owusu scores for Walton & Hersham as they dump Farnborough out of the Cup...

Wow calling for new management is appalling!!! The team on the whole isn't good enough for this level and the club doesn't have a big enough budget for top players. There is still time to get a few better results and build a bit of belief in to the players. Everyone is working hard but the jump in level is massive. We were playing a NLN side so to lose by just a penalty is not bad. In all honesty we need to focus on improving in the league not going further in cup. We badly need a decent striking combo and to make sure we hang on to Forster as if he goes then we are in trouble and clubs are bound to come knocking

The team is CLEARLY not good enough for this level. They have lost 8 of 9 games against Step 2 opposition. Scott Thomas starts every week and is clearly out of his depth. The management seem unable to either recruit players who are good enough or coach the players they have up to the level required. For a club with limited funds, crashing out of the Cup - at home - at the first attempt - is disastrous. But above all else, the style of play is painful to watch when positive results aren't the end product. So I stand by my call for change.

Dual reg Owusu is playing step 3 which is not comparable to NLS as we are finding out painfully at the moment. We were good enough to get promoted remember but aren't good enough for the step up....can we get there? Who knows but let's hope so...keep the faith

Sometimes you have to be ruthless… Gavin performed a football miracle to get us up but his decisions so far have been well off the pace… we must have the most lightweight side in the league and that isn’t to do with money it’s recruitment….I was not overly surprised to see Thomas captain again as there seems to be a real love in here seeing as what CC said he is well out of his depth… there is just no power or height or muscle in the middle of the park…  Peake was promising again Dylan run his heart out and Reece made a number of good saves but poor old Harry had no chance with continuous balls flying at his head…. we either wait and hope that the management team turns it around or we act now because we really are a mile away from being a NLS team at the moment ….

Out muscled. Out fought. Out played. The two best chances we had were when Peterborough tried two smart corners which saw us run the ball down the park. Apart from that, nothing really. Their goal stemmed from us losing the ball on the half way line and then watching the player run into the box to win the penalty.
We very rarely won the second ball, never mind the first ball and it looked as though we were devoid of ideas. Let’s be honest, Peterborough were much the better side and some of our players need to take a good long look at themselves and their performance.
Gavin needs to make the best of what he has. We can’t moan about mega budgets and players scoring for fun elsewhere. They just need to play the best they can. If that’s still not good enough, then so be it.
It’s going to be a long, long winter.
