Club Update

Interesting update on the website -

Good to see Trent back in the fold, an asset to any club in various capacities.

Lomas - gone back to Braintree and to be honest I didn't see much point in the loan looking back on it now. Clearly wasn't fully fit and barely made an impact at all over the 28 days. I hope we are now looking to strengthen the defensive options as we still don't have a LB or many options at CB past those that start. 

Lench - will be interesting to see how he is once he is back as I'd say the midfield of Henry, Leon and John are playing well at the moment and whilst competition for places is excellent, I don't think Lench will be a guaranteed starter in this side currently.

Whilst we've had a very decent start to the season imo if we want to maintain our good start and stay in or around the play-offs I think there's still a couple of positions where we can strengthen.

One is obviously the center forward position which hopefully will be resolved when Sam and Slavi are back to full fitness.

The other position is a central midfielder who can control and dictate play which in my view is a fit Matt Lench who's back to or somewhere near his best.

Ideally no player should be a guaranteed starter and if we are playing well and winning games Lenchy might have to be patient and wait for his opportunity to claim a place in the team.

Obviously be great to have Lenchy back but imho Leon is playing very well in the middle

Leon is doing well but imo they're a completely different type of player.
