Admission £10, Attendance 100 (!!) - my est. HC was nearer 65, Programme £2, Tea £1.50
My first visit to Chalk Lane, I have been to about 3/4 of the Premier Division Spartan Club's now. Just South of the M25 near Potters Bar, the ground is just off the main road, sandwiched between 2 cricket pitches and next door to a Bowls club. Parking on Chalk Lane itself is available, fortunately as the football Club car park only caters for about 4 vehicles. The road does have double yellow lines along some of it, and I did see a parking warden issuing tickets.
The programme does have a lot of Spartan league information and Herts Senior County League information, as that is where their Reserves team play. There is a Clubhouse to the right of the entrance and the near touchline has 2 rows of plastic white chairs under the cover of some corrugated plastic. There is hard standing around 3 sides of the ground with no access behind the far goal.
There were a few yellow cards throughout, the first at 18 minutes to LL, and C had a player sent off with less than 60 seconds to go, at the other end of the match. C started well, looking like the stronger team. The second half LL played better, but just couldn't get it into the net, 2 shots on target within minutes of starting the second half and the C GK was called upon to make some good saves. All this to the 'chorus' of a flock of parakeets nesting in the nearby trees.
