v Luton XI - 6th August 7.30pm kick off

Recommended Posts

Finished 4-1 to the Rebels after almost a full tram change at half time. Very good performance against a well drilled young group of lads IMO. Very positive end to pre-season and I wouldn't want to be Scott having to pick the 16 for Saturday with the performances overall.

Decent performance against a youthful Luton side.

A surprise on the night was having two trialists in the squad having just announced our squad numbers.

Of the trialists the number 14 scored a goal and looked a decent player.

Of our new signings the one that stood out for me was Kweku Lucan a real live wire with frightening pace.

Only 1 defeat in 9 pre season games but a much bigger test awaits on Saturday.

Totally agree with SF.

Scott does have a really difficult (but enviable) task picking a 16 and a starting 11 based on their performances in pre season.

All our wide players, Ufuah, Ogbonna and Abisogun have been putting in exceptional performances and now there's Kweku to give him a further headache :doah:

Best of luck with that Scott.

Thought John was really good last night as well, he can shift an all, much quicker than I thought.

We must have some of the quickest forward driving/thinking players in the NLS?

It was interesting to see in the second half some of the players that have come through the EDS getting a reasonable amount of playing time….. Ryan North, Josh Stranks, Alfie Tucker, Ollie Spicer & Jack Timberlake. All put in good performances.

Are Kai Allsopp & Oscar Lucey still with us but out on loan again this season?

Some promising players there that we could see breaking into the first team very soon….. what league are the EDS team in this season? It would be interesting to keep an eye on how they do & maybe catch a few of their matches.

Both of those players are not in our 1st team squad section or A23 so it looks like they're no longer with the club.

Mind you only Spicer and North are in the A23 squad section so it could just be that it needs updating.
