A hard-fought tie was won for Kings Langley by 16-year-old sub Finn Filler on his debut - his name not even listed in the online programme.
Following a 1-1 draw on Saturday, these two teams replayed on a very pleasant evening.
The first chance of note was for the away side when Antonio Michael was foiled from close range by keeper Cian Moore.
Cockfosters, the hungrier of the two teams, had the upper hand during the opening period without creating many chances.
After the home side had been dispossessed in their own half, Ethan Rookard bore down on goal with one defender ahead of him and Michael outside him. Instead of slipping in his team-mate, his shot from outside the box sailed over the crossbar.
The second half saw more gumption from Kings Langley but there was still not enough quality to break down their opponents.
A golden chance for Cockfosters on 77 minutes when Malik Nosike was played in behind the home defence in the right channel but he dragged his shot wide of the far post.
Finally the deadlock was broken on 83 minutes. Cockfosters keeper Charlie Patmore punched clear a cross to Filler who, with socks round his ankles, fired low into the net from the edge of the box.
A baffling 15 minutes of injury time kept Cockfosters' hopes alive. There were a couple of scares for the home side but they held on to progress to the next round.
