An excellent 3-1 win for Eaton Socon last night at River Road against United Counties League Premier Division South Eynesbury Rovers, a groundhopper from another Forum was in attendance. Eaton Socon will travel to Deeping Rangers in the Semi Final of the competition with the other Semi Final between March Town United and St Neots Town:

Eaton Socon 3 - 1 Eynesbury Rovers
Hinchingbrooke Cup Quarter-Final
£6 adult, kid free, £1 programme
Proper Cup tie and a refreshing change to not be freezing at a game. Eynesbury had the best of the first 25 minutes but didn't make their pressure count. Eaton Socon came in to it and took the lead on 36 minutes with a speculative effort could only be pushed into the net by the Eynesbury goalkeeper.
4 minutes later the scores were level as Eynesbury pushed men forward in response.
In the first minute of stoppage time Eaton Socon took the lead again after a bit of a goalmouth scramble.
Second half started quite even, 10 minutes in a slip from the Eynesbury right back as the goalkeeper kicked the ball to him allowed a break to make it 3-1.
As the game went on Eynesbury put pressure on without many clear chances. They weren't helped on 77 minutes with their left back swore at the Referee after some minor Eaton Socon time wasting and got a yellow card and a 10 minute sin bin.

A disappointing defeat, 4-2 on penalties, for Eaton Socon last night following a nail biting 1-1 stalemate at the Haydon Whitham Stadium, a groundhopper from another Forum was in attendance. Also see match photographs and post match analysis from Deeping Rangers Manager Brett Whaley:

Deeping Rangers 1 - 1 Eaton Socon (Deeping Rangers won 4-2 on penalties)
Hinchingbrooke Cup Semi Final - Admission £7 (U18s free), attendance 191, Free online programme
A very competitive cup tie, both sides looked to attack first half but neither could take control for more than a couple of minutes in the first half and while there were lots of chances they were all half chances that didn't trouble either goalkeeper.
Second half Eaton Socon took the lead on the 51st minute when a ball was pulled back from the touchline and two Socon players just about kept out of each other's way to allow one to put the ball away.
Eaton Socon then looked pretty comfortable, sitting back a little bit with pace up front always causing problems. Deeping Rangers looked desperately short of confidence going forward.
In the 91st minute a Deeping Rangers player went down in the Eaton Socon box, no penalty but the player required about 4 minutes of treatment which was added to the 4 minutes already indicated by the referee.
With 96 minutes gone a break by Socon was stopped by an offside flag. The free kick launched forward, after a little head tennis the ball fell to a Deeping player who found the roof of the net. 30 seconds after play restarted the final whistle went
Deeping Rangers' first penalty was saved but the third Eaton Socon penalty was skied before the fourth was saved to put Deeping Rangers into the final against March Town United.
Found out on twitter after that Deeping Rangers keeper was having his debut and is their U18 keeper (and one content said their U16s keeper). Could be a player to watch as he looked very competent and is already about 6'3.
