Bath City Season Tickets

Recommended Posts

Perhaps a sign of the times Bath City (for an extra £10) will allow fans to pay for their STs with 5 consecutive monthly direct debit payments They believe that they will get extra ST purchases from fans who wouldn't usually commit to the single lump sum.

Very decent of them to charge an extra £10 for those who can't afford to pay in one go.

Our payment plan was spread over 3 months at no extra cost.

RR, that sounds very much like a criticism of Bath City for charging some of their fans more than others for buying a season ticket.

Not sure why you are having a go at them for this.

We did exactly the same.

This Slough fan declined to buy  a STFC season ticket for the coming season because STFC are charging Rebels fans more to buy one if we don't have a smartphone.

I know I'm cutting off my nose to spite my face but the penalty of an extra charge for a season ticket because I don't own a smartphone really makes me livid.

So much so that if this is to be the case in the future for buying a season ticket, I'll never buy another one.

HR, very generous of Bath to help people who cannot afford the whole amount in one go but to then charge an extra £10 is in my mind petty.

As far as STFC goes surely a supporter without a smart phone or a computer could have bought a discounted season ticket?

Personally I used my desk top computer to order the ticket and then printed out the QR code to gain entrance to AP.

Subsequently I downloaded the QR code to my phone but that was my choice.

If a supporter/s didn't have a computer or smart phone to order a discounted season ticket I would have thought the club would have been able to accommodate supporters who are in this position.

RR, I have said on here before that I sent an email to the club as soon as the details about season tickets was announced.

I stated that I was unhappy that there was an extra charge to obtain a "printed membership card" which I would have been able to show at the turnstiles, as the details stated that memberships "are digital as the default option" ,

This implied to me that they are some sort of an "app' to be displayed on a smartphone , and I told the club in my email that I didn't have one.

I clearly said in my email to them could anything be done similar to the "minisaver 10 game ticket pass" which was available for the last 10 games of last season.

I was able to  buy one of these  online and print off a voucher at home that I could take to the turnstile to gain access to the ground.

The reply I received made no mention that  anything like this would be available.

"Bernie Gogan" suggested to me that something similar to what I think you have done should be doable, but as the club made no hint to me in their reply that this would be possible I didn't take this idea any further.

To be honest I'm used to the idea now of not having one.

I wouldn't buy one now even if it was available at the earlybird price.

I was intending to be  quietly "miffed" on my own about this topic, but your implied criticism of Bath when we are in my eyes guilty of the same offence made me reply to your post.

Couldn't help myself.

Damn you RR  !  🤣

On this point HR, I can understand the reasons why the club want all S/T orders to be done on line and not to advertise otherwise for none computer or smart phone users.

I still find it hard to believe that for a person in your position the club could not accommodate you buying a discounted season ticket on a one off basis.

As far as I'm aware HR we had the 3 options of just using a printed out QR code to show at the turnstile, download the QR code onto a smartphone or buy a card for £7.50.

RR, there was definitely no  option given or mentioned about "just using a printed out QR code to show at the turnstile".

It was download the QR code onto a smartphone or buy a physical card for an extra 7 pound 50 pence.

That was all.

Below is the reply I received from the club on April 29th.

To me it  basically says politely, " This is the way we are doing things now. If you don't like it, hard luck"

I don't think  I am wrong to think this .

Dear Kevin,

Thank you for your email and sharing your concerns regarding the details of the memberships for the upcoming 2024/25 season. Your feedback is appreciated and we understand your frustration with the shift towards digital ticketing.

We want to assure you that the division to move towards a digital first approach as our default option was made after careful consideration. Many clubs, including ours, have transitioned to digital ticketing to streamline processes and enhance the overall fan experience. While we recognise this may pose challenges for some fans, we believe this benefits the majority.

Regarding the additional fee, the £7.50 cost covers expenses previously incorrected by the club for purchasing, printing and posting the physical cards. It also better utilises the finite resources and burden on our volunteers as we partner with a specialist in this area to undertake the card production. When viewed in the context of an entire season, the additional cost is relatively small compared to the savings provided by the membership package.

We want to emphasize the exceptional value that our memberships offer. The Adult price for our base Rebels membership is just £225, averaging to less than £10 per game for all 23 home league matches. Similarly the Concession price of £185 translates to under £8 a game. This represents a significant discount compared to matchday prices and ensures that loyal fans like yourself can enjoy every match at an affordable rate.

We understand that not everyone may have access to a smartphone or be comfortable with digital ticketing. While we encourage embracing new technologies, we also want to ensure that all fans feel included.

We sincerely hope that you reconsider and join us at Arbour Park for the 2024/25 season and we look forward to welcoming you back to the stadium.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. Your feedback helps us improve and better serve our fans.

HR, I did a print out as a back up to my phone so as WR has said I'm pretty certain there was an option just to do a print out of the QR code. Still, as you say water under the bridge now.
