A groundhopper from another Forum was in attendance at Cow Lane last Tuesday evening to watch Tring Athletic's 6-2 Quarter Final win over Letchworth Garden City Eagles. Sausage roll and chips seems a bit on the pricey side as well as £9 admission for a Hertfordshire FA Charity Shield tie on a 'filthy' night:

A filthy night - weather wise, I needed to double check this game was on as late as possible. Tring share their car park with the Rugby, Squash and Bowls Club's. A raised main stand on the near touchline, over looking the dug outs, covered standing behind the left hand goal and opposite touchline. Some old style porta cabin changing rooms to the right of the main stand - not in use tonight. It rained, and rained varying from light drizzle to full Biblical downpour, but it stopped with 5 mins left of the game to play.
LGC started well, scoring 2 goals within the first 8 minutes, the second being ruled off side. TA equalised from a free kick at 24 minutes. The TA GK went down with an injury within his net, he recovered, but was subbed off at half time. Just before HT LGC chanced a superb kick from their own half... which JUST missed the goal, the ball hit the side netting, but it took a few seconds to realise it just missed. The second half saw LGC equalise at 72 mins, a lot of knee slides to celebrate, there were a few other slips and slides also happening regularly, did I mention it was raining? The LGC GK managed to leave an open goal not 6 minutes later, which TA took full advantage of going ahead 3-2, the final 10 minutes saw TA scoring for fun with another 3 goals, showing their higher Step status, whilst LGC had run out of steam.
