A ground that I've been saving for a day when most grass pitches fell by the wayside, and this proved a good time to use the 'break glass for emergency 3G tick' option.
The game itself was a strange one. Practically nothing happened for 75 minutes, and AVD in particular did nothing with Crawley Green having most of the ball and the odd chance that happened. Very rarely has a game felt more destined to finish 0-0 than this. The real saving grace up until this point was one of the best bovrils I've had at a game, full of flavour.
Just as attention spans were really starting to struggle, a couple of AVD subs changed the game up. They suddenly started to break forwards more, and after having a corner cleared off the line and a couple of promising shots going over, took the lead in the 83rd minute. Crawley Green fell apart at this point, and two more counterattacks that penetrated the flimsy back line led to goals in the 87th and 95th minutes. Not a bad outcome for a game that never felt like it would take off.
That leaves me with just one ground left to complete the league, ironically that ground is Aylesbury Vale Dynamos!
