Bet of the weekend

My plan to give up betting has failed miserable so I've decided to follow Zeal's style this weekend. A five-fold on Man U, Arsenal, Canvey, Celtic and Rangers gives odds of 3.5/1

 

Not great, especially when you consider 4 of them are away!

Go for Plymouth and QPR too, but only if they're at home.

 

Also, Chelsea if they're at home.

I've gone for a modest five-some of:

 

Newcastle (H v Leicester)

Arsenal (A v Wolves)

Livingston (A v Spartans)

Canvey (H v Hayes)

Hornchurch (H v Hitchin)

 

Knowing my luck that's the kiss of death for all those teams!

 

A fiver returns the princely sum of £17.54.

And I had another fiver on those six, with the addition of Chelsea at home vs Charlton. This will return £42.34 plus the £31.05 from the other bet, of course.

Canvey seem rather long this week, 11/8 away to Grays. Along with Arsenal, Man U and Celtic you'll get almost 4/1. Not bad for a little midweek bet?

I'd steer clear of Canvey this week at Grays. They have to drop points some time, and I fancy Grays to get something tomorrow night.

That looks very tempting I must admit, the only doubt I have is Boro at Man U, they are just the sort of team to cause an upset as they proved against the A*se.

I wouldn't have thought Rangers were worth it at 1/7 , or did you get better odds than that?

 

Liverpool and Man C sounds a bit dodgy to me as well, I think that's got draw written all over it

Zealster, if you had lost your bet on Saturday it would have been down to the complete muppet of a ref! It was certainly a bit touch and go on Saturday regarding the three points.

Zeal - I did go for that 4-some. I think a fiver would win about £18 off that lot. I'm starting to worry about Canvey now though, and wishing I'd spotted Halifax.

 

I wonder if someone who had gone for Arsenal, Man U, Celtic, Rangers and Canvey every week (except when they were playing each other!) would be up or down by this stage in the season?

Libro, yes, Rangers are 1/7 but I'll be happy if all five come in for a win of £19-odd. Liverpool are due a few goals and Man City (apart from last week) are a bit shaky right now.
