Next Seasons Matches.....

So now we can take a guess at who we will be playing next season, I started to wander what the attendances are for our potential opponents. So if we DO make it in the top 6, or finish 7th and win the play-off against the 7th place team in Ryman One North, which would guarantee a place in next seasons step 3 of the non league pyramid(Isthmian Premier), we obviously will be playing in front of larger crowds - (Based on this seasons average attendaces so far)

Isthmian Premier Division 2004/2005

Aylesbury United - 397

Bath City - 688

Bromsgrove Rovers - 460

Chippenham Town - 555

Cirencester Town - 152

Dunstable Town - 188

Gloucester City - 336

Halesowen Town - 398

Harrow Borough - 215

Hemel Hempstead Town - 128

Maidenhead United - 275

Merthyr Tydfil - 539

Northwood - 254

Redditch United - 366

Rugby United - 284

St Albans City - 342

Sutton Coldfield - 158

Team Bath - 93

Weston-super-Mare -383

Windsor & Eton - 151

Wingate & Finchley - 111

Yeading - 129

SLOUGH TOWN - 303

Average - 300

And if we don’t finish in the top 6, or fail make it to the 7th place play-off with the Istmian North division team we would obviously be playing in front of lesser crowds -

Southern League West Division 2004/2005

AFC Wallingford ??? Promoted from Combined Counties Premier

Banbury United - 286

Bashley - 170

Bideford ??? Promoted from Screwfix Direct Western Premier Division

Bracknell Town - 130

Buckingham Town ??? Eagle Bitter United Counties Premier Division

Burnham - 131

Clevedon Town - 188

Didcot Town ??? Promoted from Cherry Red Hellenic Premier Division

Evesham United - 170

Mangotsfield United - 265

Marlow - 152

Newport IoW - 248

Oxford City - 123

Paulton Rovers ??? Promoted from Screwfix Direct Western League Premier Division

Swindon Supermarine - 152

Taunton Town - 279

Thame United - 147

Wimborne Town ??? Promoted from Sydenhams Wessex League Division 1

Winchester City ??? Promoted from Sydenhams Wessex League Division 1

Yate Town - 214

SLOUGH TOWN - 303

Average - 211 (Not including promoted clubs)

I think it's vital for the club to get into the Isthmian Premier next season, if we dont it would be like travelling to Wivenhoe on a Tuesday night, except every match!

We cant keep on slipping down the pymamid, one day we might find our selves in the land of no return, but the potential 7th place play-off with the 7th placed North division team could be a life saver!!!

Two now I think. They were beaten in the Vase recently and also in the County Cup by Banstead Athletic (who we beat 5-1 earlier this season).

They appear to be getting a bit of a reputation as bad losers as well unfortunately, but I imagine it's only a minority of their fans.

Well I suppose they would be bad losers seeing as they're not bloody used to it ! They must have won 95+% of their games since they were formed.

As for how many they lost, they're definitely unbeaten in the league and I would put money on it staying that way. They were beaten in the Vase by Colne a few weeks ago. Didn't know about the loss to Banstead. Just goes to show football is funny, because AFC Wimbledon would probably be better than most sides in the Ryman One, and Banstead are rubbish.

How come the REAL Wimbledon are sitting at the bottom of Division One, yet the NEW Wimbledon are at the top of the Combined Counties League?

How many reasons do you want? Got all night?

For a start, the 'real' Wimbledon are in debt and it doesn't look they'll get out of it in a hurry.... plus they're offloading players like there's no tomorrow, 4 to West Ham this season for a start !!
