Lordy – Sam’s gone.    Well what a great player he’s been for the club and I think we can all feel privileged to have seen him turn out for the Urchins.    I wish him well wherever he goes.

Meanwhile, our own local superstar is confirmed as a Mr Luke of Basildon who swept aside a Mr Tea of Collier Row to both claim the Les Walker and relegate his opponent in one fell swoop with two weeks to spare.  Very well done Luke (though I’m still desperately waiting for someone to cook up some point-worthy deductions!).

In Div 2 you will all be delighted to see that I’ve risen to my rightful place at the top (and indeed secured my return to the promised land in the process).  “Hurrah” I hear you all cheer.  And UrchinYid has proved that lightning CAN strike twice by winning his second in a row and moving off the bottom.  Clearly gonna be a scrap all the way for the much coveted Wooden Spoon.  My money’s on Mick The Bat.

Our supercomputer has selected weeks 6 and 9 as the repeat matches for the final two weeks.  Squeaky bum time all round.  So good luck with whatever your particular quest may be.
