The substitutions didn't seem to affect the game at all

Funny that, as I could have sworn Mickel Platt was the player who turned his man to get the strike at goal which was parried to Steven Bala to score the winning goal. George Alexander was also on hand in the six yard box looking to score the goal.

None of the above players started the match...

So when the players on loan leave what happens?

These players are just sticking plasters, they stop the bleeding now, but once they are removed will the wound have healed?

I take it you don't agree with having these loan players 😏

I'm sure Scott will have it in hand to replace or keep them if possible.

Temi and Dan aren’t long term. Dan could’ve played last night but I decided not to risk it. Temi could be available for Saturday also.

What I’ve realised in football is that you can’t please everyone… 😂

In my whole career, I genuinely think it’s the first time someone has played 25 minutes, scored a winning goal and the gloss is taken off it because he’s a loan player! Loans are there to be utilised because ‘hopefully’ we get better players from a higher level to come in and improve us. A club like ours would be stupid not to delve into the loan market.

Anyway…

Bit confused SR, of the starting 11 last night, none were loanees?

Ok, we had 3 loanees on the bench (the only 3 loanees we have in the squad) but Hutchison is a temporary replacement for Abisogun, Alexander has been with us for a while but is currently not finding the net and Bala was added due to our current injuries I’d imagine so can you clear up what the issue is?

Read my post again, and you'll see that's actually what I said.

I wasn’t going to, but I did re-read it and it just sounds contradictory, if anything.

I can only imagine the disappointment in Steven Bala’s voice as he told his friends and family about his senior debut: “I came on as a substitute, was an attacking threat and showed some good touches, and then I even scored the winning goal! But I didn’t affect the game”

I'll quote my own post, with bits I consider to be important in bold and underlined:

As for the second-half, did it exist? Utterly turgid at home against the bottom team, who had appeared to settle for a draw for all the creativity and intent they showed. A couple of half-chances at the start, but very little from then on. The substitutions didn't seem to affect the game at all, with Ogbonna (who'd been the only one to look like making something happen) coming off, and Alexander being completely anonymous yet again. The match appeared to be petering out for a draw, which would have done neither side any good, but that was until the 92nd minute, when substitute Mickel Platt (I think) turned, got a shot in for debutant Steven Bala (in the right place at the right time) to poke home the rebound.

I thought my meaning, even without the formatting, was quite clear, but apparently not: I'll take care to be even clearer in future. I was describing the match (as I saw it) in a linear fashion, without direct reference to what was to happen. My point was that, despite the substitutions, little happened until one moment right at the death when (thankfully) something happened out of nothing, and this involved two substitutes.

Hopefully this puts an end to what has to be the silliest conversation I've ever had on this messageboard! 🤣😆

Just goes to prove my point, you cannot rely on these players to be around long term!

There is now the money from the FA Cup run to bring in a replacement to build a stable squad.

I’ve actually made Bromley recall George. He’s going on loan elsewhere which will be announced today. So reliability doesn’t come into it, it was my decision.

Everyone but 5-6 players could walk out the door within 7 days for free with being on a non-contract so there’s no reliability with what people would deem to be our own players.

Are you actively looking to sign another striker Scott (or any other positions too) or are you happy to go with what you have?

Always looking Glen! We were slightly unfortunate that we had someone lined up but there’s been an injury at his club so it’s delayed things as he’s needed to stay there as cover for now.

Comment removed to spare the embarrassment of those concerned, as it got too close to the truth.
