Dan Lincoln

Goalkeeper Dan Lincoln has officially signed and I’m very pleased as he’s a top keeper having played very recently in the NL with Dorking. I guess this means Rohan will be finishing his loan early as neither goalkeeper will be want to be sub.

This will give the defence a platform and a huge shot in arm confidence wise, a top top keeper!

The goalkeeper is an incredibly important role in a team, and I don’t know anything about Dan, but I am concerned about the number of different goalkeepers we have had over the last year….. how many will it have been if Dan starts tomorrow? Six, seven, eight, nine?

Sometimes as with any position it may take 2 or 3 players to find the right fit. Unfortunately the last 2 goalkeepers haven’t worked out completely but hopefully Dan is the answer. He certainly has the experience at this level and higher and I’m feeling confident about this signing. Now if we can just attract a top striker too we could be moving on up.

I make it 6.

North, Dennis and Forster last season and with Dan Lincoln tomorrow it'll be 3 this season.

We struck it lucky with Will Dennis last season having got him from Bournemouth based on recommendations.

Unfortunately this season we've not been as lucky with the recommended keepers.

Dan Lincoln is known to Scott and Johnny Goddard and has achieved promotion at this level with Dorking Wanderers so should be a much safer bet.

Dan is quality in my humble opinion, for me I'm hoping he can be another Jack Turner and give us a number of years as arguably the best in the NLS and possibly Non League and a great platform to build off.

His experience and ability makes this a no brainer for me and a great job done by Scott and the board/owners.

Wonder if Dan is planning to play professional cricket again next summer? If so you might need a new keeper again for the last few games of the season once cricket starts again

You're probably right but by then hopefully we'll have secured our place in the NLS.

Better to have him for the vast majority of the season than not at all.
