FA Cup 1st round draw

Assuming (for the sake of this post) that we win on Tuesday night and get through, we've been in the first round 5 times during my time of supporting STFC and we've been drawn vs non-league clubs on four of those occasions (three away from home). The FA don't like us 🤣 Home vs a league club will do me.

With Cray Valley PM, Horsham & Bracknell Town being drawn away (my understanding is that TV rarely pick these when the small team is away), we may be picked, but maybe not if it's Ebbsfleet. Or maybe not at all seeing as it's dependent upon a replay, otherwise our game vs Gillingham would probably have been picked.

All guesswork at the moment though.

Yeah not great but at least it’s at home. Unfortunately not likely to be picked for TV and would we get much more than 1,500 in?

I would say with Grimsby not having won a league away game this season, it’s potentially winnable for us or Ebbsfleet so might appeal to TV.

They also get average gates of 6,000+ so wouldn’t surprised if they have 600+ travelling to away matches.

If they look at it purely that we are a non league club up against last seasons quarter finalists it will be on TV.

But lets not get ahead of ourselves we've a monumental task ahead of us on Tuesday.

Take no notice of league form, it's the FA Cup.

I bet the TV executives are kicking themselves that they chose to overlook Barnsley vs Horsham. 2-2 h/t, with Horsham coming from behind to lead 2-1 for a time. (Sheppey 1-1 Walsall h/t, with Sheppey taking the lead)

Bring on Crewe Alex vs Derby! I can't wait!!!

Aldershot had an amazing match, did Swindon play a weakened team or have a load of injuries? To be 7-0 up away to a team in a league above you is pretty extraordinary but also odd that Swindon then suddenly made a comeback with 4 goals, most teams would have given up at 0-7 down.

Not many upsets today:

Ramsgate 2-1 Woking
Yeovil 3-2 Gateshead
Swindon 4-7 Aldershot

Yeovil and Maidstone from our division are through, but Worthing lost 2-0 at Alfreton. Aldershot led 7-0 with 25 minutes still to play, but only then did Swindon decide to make a game of it!

Nathan I should of gone only 25 minutes from home
