Did we go on and play Walsall the last time we played Salisbury or was it the year yeading knocked us out

Yes we beat them 3-2 to set up the Walsall game. One of my all time favourite Slough games. Made all the better by the highlights capturing Jenny's plea for "someone to just hit it" as Wilko smashed home the winner.

They play at Partridge Way, Old Sarum.

4th in the table, played 8 won 5 drawn 3, scored 13 conceded 6.

We've played them 5 times since 1982, we've won 4 and drawn 1.

RR I think you'll  find those 5 historical games we're against Salisbury City who couldn't pay substantial debts and became defunct in 2014.

Both.....

Salisbury 4th Q round we won 3-2....i remember Haddow had a superb game and clearly remember Wilko scoring 5 ish mins from time. We already knew we'd face Walsall and so Paul Merson was sat in the stand that day at Stag Meadow.

Walsall was 1st round and Yeading 2nd round

I believe Alex Haddow impressed Salisbury so much that they subsequently signed him.

I'm fairly sure it was Eastleigh who signed him shortly after he scored a hattrick for us against them. Unless he later signed for Salisbury??

Looking at Wiki, we signed Alex Haddow from Aldershot, he played 57 games scoring 12 goals in the two seasons he was with us.

He was then signed by Eastleigh in 2005 who then loaned him to Salisbury.

He ended up playing for Hampton and Bognor ending his career at Horsham in 2010.

That would make a great feature for our match day programme - an interview with an ex Slough player from yesteryear on his memories of our club/matches/players he played with/ones he rated/who were his mates from football/other clubs played for/what they have done in their life after football etc. The Non -League paper do something similar.

Nice idea but not sure how practical and time consuming it would be to track players down and then organize interviews.

It was indeed Eastleigh, maybe Salisbury at some point thereafter but I don't recall it. Pretty sure he ended up at Bognor Regis Town.
