v Hayes & Yeading, FA cup 2nd Qualifying Round

I thought I'd flag this one up early to forewarn supporters that Hayes now falls within the extended ULEZ zone.

When I heard about this extended zone I though it won't ever affect me because I have no intention of ever going into it.

Unfortunately with the Hayes FA Cup game coming up and the other odd league game maybe falling into the zone (possibly Aveley) it might be unavoidable for some supporters if they want to attend by car.

As far as I know any car registered before 2015 (I think) will have to pay the charge and coaches over 5 tonnes are exempt.

H&Y won yesterday, but have Walton & Hersham on Tuesday, their number 9 Sam Ashton looks like he is the main threat.

The FA cup is always unpredictable.

They banged in 5 goals but against a side weakened by recent departures.

Sam Ashton was pre season trialist for us and played against Beaconsfield, lets hope he doesn't come back to haunt us.

I mentioned to a mate of mine about us going there this Saturday and he said there are 'NO' musical instruments allowed in apparently.

He said he was there last year and some of his lot were barred from taking them in.

Did they give a reason or are they just classed as potentially dangerous weapons?

I haven't been to this ground for many a year (since before its development).

There used to be a half-decent bar with views onto the pitch on one side, but I believe the stand has now been rebuilt.

Does anyone on here, that's been in recent years, know if they have a clubhouse/bar now which is likely to open early and possibly show the BT/TNT match on TV (Wolves v Liverpool)?

I emailed H&YUFC yesterday but got no response.

Do you mean they've rebuilt the massive stand that holds about 1,000?

Their ‘bar’ is a pretty sore point if you ask any of their fans! Let’s say it’s been an ongoing project since they redeveloped years ago… i think they now have a makeshift room acting as a bar area, hopefully someone else can confirm? Luckily they now have one small cover behind a goal as it was just that large white elephant of a stand! Who ever sanctioned this ott stand when barely 100 people sit in it (seats 1200!).

Should never have been built to that size in the first place, terrible decision. Build a 500 seat version that could be extended to what it is now in the future if required. They could then have used the saved money on a nice big bar plus another covers terrace and still have money left over.
