Only if we have the players who played last night fit enough to do themselves and the team justice.

Sometimes if you play on with an injury it can make things worse.

Concerned Nasher hasn’t quite recovered from his injury as we need his fighting/battling qualities. But no point rushing him back if it’ll just mean it’ll reoccur. Simply we need to perform exactly like last night and we’ve got a good chance of getting points on Saturday.

Not sure what’s in the water over in Aveley but they should bottle it!!! Not sure anyone could have predicted their amazing start and still keep thinking it won’t last but now I’m not so sure. I’ve not looked into their squad/recruitment, maybe they’ve signed some decent experienced players at this level? In any case we’ll have to play our very best to get something from the game but last night should give us plenty of confidence. Looking forward to it!

In that case we're going to smash Aveley 😏

If only football was that predictable.

That's the point in the early weeks there have been a lot of surprise results where the highly fancied team lost. Our 3-0 victory over Weston springs to mind and Aveley can be beaten by underperforming teams

Looking at some of the teams they've beaten, Worthing, Torquay, Taunton, Maidstone, and some of them comprehensively, I really don't think it's a flash in the pan.

Well, they've got a goalkeeper who got unfair stick when playing for our club. He can't be that bad as he was ever present last season to get Aveley promoted and has retained his place this season!

Aveley are flying at the moment and have been the real surprise package so far, whether they can sustain it, is a different matter.Pity we couldn't have got them later in proceedings but as Irishadrian pointed out they've been beaten by Dartford in 2023 so with the Rebels victory over the Darts fresh in the mind there's no reason Slough can't upset the odds, with the proviso Slough will need best players fit and on the pitch on Saturday to cause an upset. Let's hope Jonathan North makes a howler this week !

Aveley have ex Concord manager Danny Scopes in charge.

He seems to have pulled together a mixture of youth and experience from a variety of clubs which include Southend and Barnet and of course his old club Concord.

As to the outcome of the game itself, there is no relevance in the fact that because Dartford beat Aveley and we beat Dartford gives us a good chance of upsetting the odds.

I think we can expect Aveley to be well organised, tough to break down (they’ve conceded just 5 goals) and quick on the break. No doubt it’ll be a tough match but I’m going for a 1-1 draw with 745 in attendance.

Playing top of the league, no premiership games and some good promotions I would like to think we will get an attendance somewhere nearer the 1,000 mark.

I hope you’re right but it’s due to be 31c which may put some off but also others may decide to do other outside activities. Plus Aveley won’t bring many and as you said we’ve lost 4 out of 4 at home!

Maybe the attraction of playing a team that are top and our recent win at Dartford together with quite a few floating supporters who go to watch premiership games along with the nice weather just might attract some to come along.

If we can get a crowd near our average (817) I’ll be happy.

I thought Saturday matches kicking off at 3pm were not going to be streamed live.

It seems this match ( and others) will be available to watch live for the usual 9 pound 50p fee.

Guessing it's because it's the International fixtures weekend break ?

That "no 3pm Saturday matches broadcast live"  message didn't last very long did it ?

Not when the National League can make some money out of it!

It is because it’s an international break and matches are not subject to UEFA’s restrictions.

Proper team performance in horrendous heat!

Interesting stat…

With Temi and Bayliss playing together in the back 4, we have won 3 lost 2 scored 9 conceded 5.

When they haven’t played together in the back 4, we have won 0 lost 6 4 scored 5 conceded 13.
