22nd in league – embarrassing.

11 preseason games and 8 league games in, and still not a settled squad with weekly player movements and a reliance on loan players and only a small handful of committed experienced players – limited budget?

However, after the performance at Dartford I feel it is too early to make a judgement although that is what Adrian Gomm wanted.

It needs to be seen if the Dartford game is a turning point and the lost points can be clawed back and a more comfortable non-relegation position obtained.

So, I will be looking at the situation after 16 league games once there is a clearer set of data and hopefully a more settled squad.

All if's buts and maybe's but if you take the 8 games and the balance of play you could argue we could be sat here with:

Wins - Dover, Torquay, Weston, Dartford

Draws - Maidstone, Chippenham

Losses - Worthing, Tonbridge

 

Now that would put us on 14 points and in 7th place - i.e. in the last playoff space......

The margins are so fine and the pack are very close together still so no reason we can't kick on now........

Exactly the reason to wait until 16, will give a far better picture, but still plenty of time if changes are needed.
