Minhas as a lone striker doesn’t work RR, he needs to be in a pair witn Alexander and yesterday showed that.

Some may see it as harsh but Goddard is luxury player that in this position we cannot afford.

I cannot disagree with you WR.

Unless Nathan Minhas gets the service his pace and movement imo lets him down.

I actually prefer the way that Tom Mcelroy plays with his pace, movement and putting himself about puts defenders under pressure.

I saw none of that yesterday.

As for Johnny Goddard, his ability and skill is undoubted and he will score goals and yes he could be classified as a luxury player when it comes to a battle.

You lot a making a mountain out of a mole hill after only a few games!

As Adrian Gomm said, wait until 8 game's.

I am not judging until then, plenty of time to turn things around.

Very fair and diplomatic of you Sir Rebel, script prepared waiting to let rip no doubt 😅

TBH I don't think any player that's on our bench should be 'out of their depth' and I don't think they are.

Possibly in some cases not as good as the player they're replacing but certainly we couldn't afford to have any player who's out of their depth.

BTW I think they're just young and learning the harsh realities of football at this level and when you lose a game any mistakes made that has cost a goal will be magnified.

You're replying for the sake of replying,RR ! As I am now doing here ! ha ha !

Morning all.

It’s probably time that I reply, and don’t hide from the comments as I won’t ever shy away from the truth.

The truth is that the results haven’t been good enough, but like Holyport Rebel has just said in the previous post, it would be a lot easier to dissect if we had been clearly beaten in the games that we have played.

We’ve had more shots than every team we’ve faced, I think our luck at times has deserted us too, whether that be our one misfortune or decisions going against us.

I saw a comment about the play-offs. We could quite easily be sat on 9 points right now and everyone thinks the play-off dream is alive and kicking, but it hasn’t quite fallen for us, hence why we are sat on a disappointing 3 points.

If people want to focus on the negatives then that’s absolutely fine by me, but I certainly don’t have the time to do that. For people that have been to the games will know that we’ve been competitive and that’s all we ask the lads to be.

Not having Gary Abisogun and Mickel Platt is a huge miss for us, not having Lenchy for 4 games is a huge miss for us, suspensions we’ve had, injuries to key players, decisions going against us, it all adds up. It’s not excuses, it’s facts. We don’t have the strength in depth like other squads hence why we have tried to recruit players who are versatile.

I said it last season in November to judge the team on January 1st and I think I was proved right, it definitely improved. I’m not saying we need a few months to get things right but I do believe we’ll only get stronger from here on in with getting people back.

And, Wycombe Rebel, we’ve kept the same shape for the past 4 games. We’ve played 433, whether that be with 1 sitter in midfield or 2.

Scott, is Mickel close to being included in the matchday squad? I’m sure you always have your ‘ear to the ground’ but are you actively looking to bring in anyone new or keeping faith with what you have?

No, I am waiting to see what happens as the results of the next two games will dictate how many points are on the board and our position in the table.

This assessment will include an element of last season's performance to see if there are any trends or other influences which will give a full picture.

And only then can a full and valid assessment of the situation be established.

Ok Scott, it’s just to me, a 4-3-3 is exactly that… Torquay seemed like a diamond 4-4-2 and yesterday a 4-2-3-1

The quality of officials so far this season has been pretty poor and Saturdays Ref and Lino were up there with the worst.

The Ref clearly saw the penalty but when Dan Bayliss was clearly tripped from behind, which could have lead to a goal, both the ref and lino saw nothing.

Another pathetic ref that allowed himself to be chased and surrounded by players.
